Just did online chat with "Joel" and he says it's for Fido customers who have been with them for at least 3 months.

Better do it for me as I've been with them since I think 2004 lol (or sometime around that - nonetheless, always been with fido like forever - sadly haha)This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Here’s hoping tomorrow a bunch of the others match. Would love if Koodo would let me switch from 60/10gb to 60/15gb haha but doubt they will
I am fed up with Bell and their lack of negotiation to retain me as a customer. Sorry if this has already been answered, but has anyone had success getting better from Fido as a new customer than what is offered on their website? Or Koodo for that matter?
fido will offer a retention plan after 90 days. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Bellus has the best network in western Canada. So ya, they might be expensive but they still have me as a customer for my primary device. Fido, good enough for kids devices and iPad. People like me make them not care as much about retention. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

The fido deal just popped up 2 days ago so maybe the others will match. Otherwise if you can wait, black friday had some good deals last year and likely will again this yearThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Okay, thanks all for the quick responses!
Is “Bellus” still really a thing? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I thought they branched our from that deal a while ago and it only applied to the early GSM switch (HSPA) and not LTE?

Yes, they both share 3G and LTE radios (towers). Bell built out east, Telus built out west. Both have full access Canada wide, along with their subsidiaries. The networks past the radios are completely separate though. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Don't see that changing anytime in the future.

Crap thats a good deal, been looking around this week. Wife is due for an upgrade but she wants a plan where she can upgrade her phone every 2 years.
I try and avoid RFD, the info there is wrong 90% of the time. You can just pay out your contract balance and they'll give it to you - both my parents did that for this deal. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Got 5 lines switched over with zero hassle, 3 were on contracts.

any good deals that anyone knows about for tablet (data only) plans?
Fido has $15 for 4GB, each additional GB after costs $10. That's what I'm on.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

If you're already a BYOP Fido mobile customer, there's apparently a promo where they'll give you a free tablet and free data for 2 years as long as you keep your mobile plan... sounds like a new angle to hook BYOP people to a contract with a device subsidy. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. My Live Chat agent mentioned it and said I'm eligible yesterday when I was switching to the 15gb $60, but they were being slow as hell (helping 2 people at once), so I didn't bother asking for the terms and conditions.

Hey baller, any problem money can solve is no problem at all. Don't sweat it.
My live agent said I was eligible yesterday, but the promo ended sunday. Told me to try the physical store. RFD said the promo ends sept 30. Today, the chat agent said I am not eligible. It's all fucked up. haha. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I already have a tablet plan that is 50% off. Wanted another one or even 2 plans.

that's actually not a bad price at all, will look into itThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
not an existing fido customer unfortunately. this almost seems too good to be true?? free tablet, free data for 2 years then just cancel after two years and you got a free tablet without paying a dime??This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Just got 60$ for 12gb through Koodo and an extra 1gb promo for free for 12 months. So 60$ for 13gb
Telus’s 16B investment in their Alberta network might be a good reason to consider switching. Seems like the gap between Bellus and Rogers is likely to get bigger in coming years once 5G starts being relevant.
If the rest of the country isn’t going to give a crap about us, we can at least make sure to support the profits of companies who at least pay taxes in this province.
