So basically what this is is they are selling permits to drink in the park?

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

Meh. This doesn't change anything really.

After visiting other functioning countries in my 20s and 30s without our heavy handed Puritan liquor laws, I quit caring.

I'm not gonna flaunt it or drive with it, but you bet your ass I'm going to enjoy a little Irish cream at the dog park every weekend along with a nice cold kolsch after hiking.

This ain't Edmonton. We have haute-couture white trash in these parts.

    .
there are hardly any white people in the parks now... maybe this is designed to white wash the parks

Couldnt find a more recent post. Passed today 12-2. Farkas voted against. fuck that guy.

Still have to book a spot to have a beer. super dumb
I find it amusing you're bashing Farkas for voting against it, when he voted against it for the exact same thing you subsequently complain about. Having to book outdoor picnic tables if you want to drink there is make-work bureaucratic horseshit, just put up a sign.

Typical Calgary. Overcomplicate the process and issue bylaw tickets $$$

What’s funnier was some of the councilors thought the over-bureaucracy was stupid and still voted yes.

I guess it probably should have been a better asked motion. Yes or no to being allowed, and yes or no for requiring a booking system. The bureaucracy is definitely the dumb part, but can understand why councillors voted yes to allow it vs just outright no (that would have killed it entirely, not just the booking system)
