Glad I switched to Tekksavvy. Nice to have dual WAN (cable+DSL) through them.

Well I'm locked in for two years and am paying the same amount I was on the previous 2 year contract, so I am not too concerned. They can't raise the poverty cable price either
I'm locked in as well and every year the loyalty deals seem to get better despite any other increases.

So much for doubling your speed for free
I came to this thread to say exactly this haha. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Teksavvy 2am to 8am poverty cable internet FTW.
Cocoa $10,000 per ton.
In before the Shaw Cartel posts large bonuses/compensation.

They gotta pay for that loss of subscribership to the TV services somehow!
So with TekSavvy, what's the best deal?

I say stupid shit all the time.
Heavy users might try
UP TO 75 Mbps
CABLE 75
Starting from
$54
Regular users
CABLE 25
Starting from
$37 Month

Not sure if this is posted somewhere else but I didn't know this was coming and then I got my latest Telus bill. Their prices have also gone up; my TV went up $5/month and internet $2/month. I'm neither thrilled nor bankrupted as a result.
One thing to note with Teksavvy is that their DNS sucks balls. You want to set to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (Google DNS) as your primary first thing. Streaming normal HD Netflix is fine, haven't tried 4K.
Cocoa $10,000 per ton.
$54 for 75Mbps doesn't seem like that good of a deal when 660Mbps / unlimited bandwidth is ~$80/mo. If you never use it though I guess it's still better to save the money.
There is no way in hell the average 3 person family in Calgary is
a) GETTING 600mbs on all their devices and
b) fully utilizing it (or even coming close).
Its just a marketing hook to sell you shit you dont need.
Maybe not, but everybody with a portable telephone is absolutely going to need 5G network @ 20 Gbps. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I don’t think I have ever found a download source that can even saturate my current 300.

I am, most of my friends are, some of my coworkers are, and so are my parents That's quite a few people just within my own circle. I max out my 660Mbps on a daily basis and I actually get full 660Mbps. Anyone who downloads anything can probably max it out. I could use more than that if they offered it to me.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Like I said above, if you will never use it then it isn't worth it, but I think more people do than you may realize.

A simple Steam game download/update or graphics driver update can saturate over double that easily, so you probably have even if you didn't realize it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Same here - I may not be pushing the bandwidth to the max constantly, but with 3 gaming stations going a lot of the time, several 4k TVs streaming 4k content frequently, it's nice to have the overhead if nothing else. Plus having the download rate when you want/need it is the thing I want the most, saves a lot of time. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
