    Default Personal Projects 2019

Have you guys got any personal projects that you are working on this year? Could be anything career/life/family/fitness?

    Mine are:

    Career

    • Obtain my GPEN cert in two weeks (Penetration testing cert)
    • Obtain my OSCP before June

    Money

    • Try not to spend more than $10 personally per day - I think last year I spent way to much on snacks and shit like that.

    Home

    • Wife just went on a Marie Kondo binge and then organized the entire house or most of it with her boxes, so house seems in progress but much cleaner
    • Sorting out all my kids / family photos - one of my biggest fears is my harddrives crashing and losing years of photos
    • Fixing the leaky gutter since my wife started complaining about it 6 years ago

    Personal
    • Lose some weight, probably 30lbs over.
    • Do a spartan super at some point

    Home

    • Finish installing and painting wainscotting
    • Pain the walls
    • Finish building the deck
    • Finish landscaping the back yard

    Personal

    • Continue to cut some fat then add 5 - 10 lbs more muscle
    • Start dating again

Spent 2018 packing on weight. Maybe take it off in 2019. Guess I oughta since I'm in a cash weight loss challenge.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

    Career:
    - Keep pushing to make positive change in the OH&S field and hopefully better my team and potentially my position
    - Try and stop working 20 hour days and focus on organizing team priorities and less "doing" on my part. Easier said than done when deadlines need to be met I find...

    Home:
    - Hopefully rent out my condo in 2019, make it a investment property and purchase a second condo
    - Upgrade and replace appliances

    Money:
    - Pay off debts, and start saving for a second vehicle (obviously a second car payment is financially sound lol)

    Car:
    - RS Mods
    - RS Mods
    - Look into pickups (Tundra TRD Pro in the short-sights)

    Personal:
    - Start taking time for myself vs. 120% work as 2018 has been
    - Start a focused gym routine and follow-up with meal planning

Mine currently are (unless the layoffs affect me....)

Career: finish the APICS CPIM course then look into opportunities

Money: get after some debt that we accrued after the third kid

Home: continue to slowly pick at my basement development and maybe install some led bulbs in the garage

Personal: consistently work out instead of 2 or 3 times this week, 1 time the next and then nothing for another 2 weeks

get my kids outside more instead of being lazy or busy with "school"

Make maximum lump sum payment on mortgage.

    Don’t buy any more cars.

    Simple for me.

    Career

    - not much to change here, my current job is adequate and gives me time to focus on my business. Any change in jobs in a similar career path would be a sideways move at best, I'm in it for the long haul here at this point
    - keep growing the business. Starting to gain traction throughout Canada, I can see us being at PRI (which I care about) and possibly SEMA (which I don't really care about) next year

    Money

    - Retirement savings are on track and there will be no changes there. I am quite lucky to have a DB pension in that regard, not so lucky in having your funds taken and not being able to use them for other purposes sucks. You win some you lose some.
    - Would like to have all debts paid off by the end of this year besides commercial mortgage and condo mortgage. Dependent really on how well the business is doing

    Home

    - Finish reno's on the business office shower room/bathroom/utility room
    - Start saving a downpayment for a house, on year 3 of 5 of owning the condo before I sell it. Would like to get something brand new in the $400k-$500k range in Edmonton. For that price though, I could build an acreage about 30 minutes south of Edmonton, so the debate goes on

    Personal

    - It's about time to get serious about finding another girlfriend Been a couple good years of the single life since I dumped the last one but should get back at it
    - Lose weight. Been going strong on maintaining a better diet since New Years, want to lose 20-30 pounds total, whatever puts me around 160-165
    - Try to work out plans to go to Dakar. Thinking about picking up a prepped Class 7S Ranger from California and competing in the Mexican 1000 and Sonora Rally (baby Dakar in Northern Mexico) in 2020, Dakar by 2025?
    - Get the rally car which is in project hell back together
    - Put the LQ4 and 4L80E in the Blahzer, twin turbo it with cheap chinese kit, run it in X275. Figure I can do mid 5's in the 1/8 and keep it streetable
