So for us peasants who don't have heated steering wheels, what are you wearing while driving? Something thin just to keep the edge off the steering wheel coldness, but also grippy. I can't seem to find anything I like.

Funny, I have been going through this exact thing right now too.
The problem I'm finding is every glove is either way too cold or way too hot. I have not yet been able to find the Goldilocks glove.
All the skinny/slim gloves do literally nothing after the first 5 seconds of holding onto a cold wheel, and the grippines many of them have I actually find annoying because they are so grippy that they stick to the wheel and my hand slips around in the glove even though it's tight fitting. All the gloves warm enough such that I can't feel the wheel are too thick/cumbersome and get too warm quite quickly and then my hand sweats. The advantage of the slim gloves though is that most of them are touch screen compatible, but since my hands are freezing anyway I might as well just be using my bare hands haha.
One thing I haven't tried yet is a good quality pair of leather gloves (probably further insulated) which might be the happy medium. Currently I am using light winter/ski mittens, and I just pull one off when I need to use the touch screen which is very rare since I have voice and steering wheel controls. My next car is 100% going to have a heated steering wheel, I am so tired of cold hands - the salt in the wound for me is I have to look at the "desire button" plug that Honda installs where the heated steering wheel button is on all their other cars with the identical wheel, it's just not an option on the Civic.
Isotoner “OJ” gloves. Warm enough, leather with good grip. Classic look too. Just make sure you get the right size.
They were at Costco for $20 or so I believe before Christmas.
I can't find them now, but I have Damascus leather thinsulate lined gloves. Standard NYPD issue apparently at the time. Have great dexterity and look nice, they go great with a stylish peacoat. And they were only 20$. I loved them so ordered 5 more pairs to ensure I'd always have them in the event I couldn't find them for sale in the future. I came across them in my search for a form fitted glove specifically to wear for winter driving.
Looks like these might be the updated version, but they really updated the price point too.

Lots of different cycling gloves would work. There are all sorts of styles available.

+1. I had a set of these, and have had other lightly insulated leather gloves. They are without a doubt the best choice for winter driving gloves. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

after 5-10minutes your car will be warm enough not to need gloves anyways

i used to have a pair of nike football runningback gloves i used for driving. thin, yet extremely grippy. which reminds me i need to find another pair.
This^ is extra suitable since the thread title is looking for "glove" not gloveS. I came in here to make fun of that but this is better. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Just man up and stay gloveless!
While I wait for my cop gloves to arrive, I took the recommendation of Buster. Not as blingy, and definitely not fashionable, but it works!
