Vegas exploits sex, drugs, and gambling. Not something I would want my kids exposed to, but that’s just me.

I'd just rather be at work than have to awkwardly explain a large portion of the grotesque underbelly of society to a toddler etc. It's definitely all teachable moments. It's just that they're all at once when we should be doing something more relaxing and enjoyable for everyone on the trip.
Our girls are almost 10 and 14. spikerS and I have both been to Vegas so know what to expect and will have a talk with them before we go. However they are already aware there are different kinds of people in the world and we are raising them to be respectful of everyone even if they don't agree with their decisions. We wouldn't take them if we didn't think they could handle it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Fair enough. At least you're going in with your eyes open and you can see how polarizing it is with the opinions in this thread so that should help you out as well. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I also don't like seeing children there when I am visiting so my opinion isn't only "Lawd - think of de childrens!!" it's a bit selfish because I feel it is a buzz kill to see kids around when I'm vomiting in a storm drain on Tropicana Avenue while getting blown by a tranny hooker. Like, what is the deal with the Latin Americans dragging kids in strollers around at midnight!? All the Latin folks I know in Canada are not about that but the ones touring Vegas? Whoa! I don't understand it! Watch for it when you're there. I hope I'm wrong about the disproportionate ethic representation doing that.
Anyway, have fun! I don't think I have any cheap tips that haven't been mentioned. The food advice I read was all good. Maybe try staying at The Palms. It looks like a great place as far as off strip goes. In sure it's cheaper than strip properties and I bet it has a nice pool the kids might like.
Don't stay at Circus Circus and don't walk North of the Wynn after dark.

We stayed at Aria this year, walked over to Caesars every day to play poker, girls on every corner, and all along the sidewalk in front of the Bellagio. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

+1 to the "secret" pizza place in Cosmo for food. That was a nice saviour for relatively cheap eats considering the price of everything else around
Cheap eats and drinks
Bobby’s burgers, tasty burger for $12 and beer for $3
Guy Fieri’s, tasty burger for $15 and beer for $5
While playing poker, I was literally served a drink before I could finish my first one, easily every 10 minutes. My go to were either Caesars or Redbull vodka, I must have had 16 or more drinks, played for hours and drank for free.
Yeah, I think I want to spend one night having a few drinks and play some blackjack. Are there still $1 tables there? HAHA /serious
Boosted life tip #329
Girlfriends cost money
Turbos cost money
Both make whining noises
Make the smart choice.

Your cheap gambling is on Freemont.
Also, A++ to secret pizza although (prepare for more HUMBLEBRAGGING) if you get a couple full size it's still going to be 60+ US so really, are 40 dollar pizzas a bargain? So worth it though, because expensive.

Five 50 was $26 for a large pizza. Excellent brick oven style with thin crust.
I think there's still $5 blackjack on freemont. Don't know about any cheaper. Gamble earlier in the evening for cheaper tables though. Even golden nugget jacks prices as the night progresses.
