The sanitation and waste management specialist MEng PMP jumped out the truck when the kids were waving at him yesterday morning and gave them some colouring books and this little craft carboard thing...spent a fun 20 mins with it til the boy ripped the arm off it "emptying" the black bin

Great use of taxpayer dollars right there.

    No fat to trim whatsoever.

The RCMP have something similar for their cop cars! The kids love it.

While that's a legit beef to have with the city, I don't think this is one of the things to get upset about...wait til you hear what Fish Creek Library has for kids on Thursday mornings...a local fire chief goes in there for a FULL HOUR and reads kids books about fire safety and hands out more colouring books and pamphlets

I worked with an M. Eng. It was insane to me that she was incapable of doing anything other than marthing to death and not being able to do real shit.

I don't know the percentage, but it always felt to me that the majority of M.Eng. students at UofC were people who couldn't get a job for some reason. Some were people with overseas bachelors degrees not recognized by APEGA, and some were unemployable for other reasons.

The most successful (if you could call it that) M.Eng's I know never left academia. They got phd's and now teach. I think that probably says it all.

I only know one M.Eng that is "normal". The only reason he got an M.Eng was because he was a suffer bum and wanted an excuse to live in hawaii for a little bit when he was younger. He just finished his undergrad so that was the easiest thing to leverage at the time (he says). Every single other M.Eng I come across is just a data cruncher.

These hinges and their brilliant simplicity. Door opens? Door closes itself.
