PETG is inert. Most water bottles and pop bottles are of a PETG or PETE variety.
I'm thinking about the impact of inhaling the particulates.

I had to turn ExtraSlow's prints down extra...slow. Even his designs can't handle an average speed print.
    these work great, thanks buddy.

Risks with PLA would be higher, since it reacts and breaks down. Assuming you were sniffing PETG fumes all day face in the print - you might cough up some nasty crap. But probably better than decomposing into other elements in your lungs

Can anyone in this thread 3D Print a VESA mount for my BenQ Monitor? Looks like BenQ released the CAD files since they don't produce this mount anymore, and someone took the liberty of adapting it to 3D Print.

If nobody else can, I could. But means a 20$ Canada Post shipping bill or a trip to high river.

What's your guys' opinion of the Snapmaker brand, specifically their impressions of the new 2.0? Seems big enough and versatile enough to do more than print small objects for 'fun'

    Gimmick.
The 3in ones do 3 things badly in one package. To work well as a router you need stiff and heavy, to work well printing or laser cutting/etching - you need light and fast...

You could buy an ender 3, a cheap little chinese Mill, and still have some left for a smaller footprint laser...

    Yup. They're a waste.

Just get a good 3d printer. If you ever find you need to use a cnc or laser just go to fuse33 and pay by the minute

I love the SLA the lightbar is all of 3.69mm tall... 1/25 scale 50" Rigid-like LED curved. The steps are intentional to mimick the aluminum heatsink style extrusion they use.

FDM for the lens since it was .40x2mm... And I have clear.

Someone asked me to do a hotrod wagon in 1/24th for a diorama.

I kinda want it full size now

Curious how it'll print. 1:45 to find out, then wash and cure overnight...

@zipdoa 's monitor mount. I love the look of carbon PETG. 1mm nozzle 0.3600 layers for strength. That thingiverse file is screwed up FYI's probably better to remake it if anyone else needed one - use fillets not square blocks

    Wagon came out decent too

They're just expensive. Where did you find the STLs for the different models from? I printed a bunch for people a few weeks ago.

Anyone want to school me on 3D printers?

Is a heated bed required? What is a good size for average printing?

    What parts usually breakdown?

Thinking about ordering an Ender 3. People also seem to suggest monoprice printers.

I have nothing I want to make in particular, but saw this today and got me interested.

Heated bed - yes, I view it as an absolute must. If you ever want to print things besides PLA you need one and PLA prints much better with a heated bed.

Common things to break - Nozzles wear out over time and I replace mine every ~ 6 months. Sometimes when a print fails and makes a spaghetti monster plastic gets sucked into a fan and jams it so I've replaced those before. I probably wouldn't buy spares right away though as there's some mods you can do instead (3d print new bracket and swap to larger / quieter fans kinda mods). Sometimes a wire breaks from constantly moving back and forth (that is usually a year or two). Sometimes I get jams in the hotend but that usually doesn't take parts to fix, just have to take things apart and then clean it out and reassemble. Overall I've found printers to be reasonably reliable.

I wouldn't touch a monoprice printer tbh, you'll fight with it so much. The ender 3 is a pretty decent starter printer. It may take some tweaking and up front effort to get it working but they're pretty solid printers. There's also huge creality FB groups with tons of people having them so there's lots of info for whatever issues you run into.
