Default Need help. How much clearance between pergola and gas fireplace exhaust?

On my main floor I have a gas fire place exhaust that points out to my backyard about 9' high from my future deck. I am wanting to build a pergola off the back of my house but the exhaust vent interferes with the post being up against the house. How far away does the post need to be from the fireplace exhaust?

Thats for above right? What about beside? I was thinking of a post to the right of the vent, basically flush with the left vertical trim of the window.

Keep in mind as well that if you plan on getting a permit for the pergola, how close it is to the house matters as well.

If the posts of the pergola are closer than 1m to the house then it's classed as an addition. If they are 1m or further away from the house it's an accessory building.

Would the city development permit online chat be able to clear that up?
