I can't believe those things hold their value so well. Not only are they the just about the ugliest wagons on the road (IMO) but that generation of CTS was a giant POS. Even with only 7k miles the driver's side leather is already worn out haha. Bumper is all scratched up too - looks like it had a rough life over those short miles.

I like sunroofs too but only at night, where I suppose it's a moonroof haha.
That's not fantastic bolster wear, but it's not highly unusual either. It's the nature of sports/bucket seats. You have to consciously not slide over bolsters in these types of seats. And in a car that's designed to be a DD, people usually don't bother.

I don't see any scratches on the bumper.

I dunno, I've owned cars with sport buckets and they didn't look worn out like that after a heck of a lot more than 7K miles. Either the leather is garbage or it wasn't well taken care of. Regardless, after such infrequent use, it shouldn't look like that. Look at the rear bumper photo, looks like someone dragged something over top of it and scratched up the plastic - probably when loading/unloading something heavy in the back carelessly:

EDIT: Look at this photo: https://bringatrailer.com/wp-content...daIMG_5212.jpg

The way the photo is taken looks like the person is trying to show the damage as a matter of full disclosure.

What cars have you owned with sport bucket seats?

I'm not sure about the scratches..just looks like streaks in the chrome to me. But its minor either way.

You can zoom in and they really look like scratches/scuffs in the plastic to me - lots of cars have them in exactly that spot and they are often created when someone slides something in/out of the cargo area carelessly. Might be able to buff some of them out but it gives you an idea of how the car was probably treated. Like I said, the way the picture is taken looks like it was done specifically to show the scratches as a matter of full disclosure, because it isn't showing anything else and the damage is centered in the frame with light reflecting off it so you can see the damage. If you can just replace that strip on it's own then it isn't a big deal but it provides insight on how the car was likely cared for.

To answer your question, almost every car I've owned has had leather bolsters that you rub against when exiting the car on both the bottom/seat and back rest - both my S4's and my old 3000GT had 'sport' buckets with prominent leather side bolsters. My current car has leather bolsters that you still rub against on exit, but they aren't very big. The bolsters on the caddy aren't very prominent compared to lots of other cars either. My POS 2010 Civic had cloth seats and was the only car I've ever owned that didn't have leather bolsters - the nice thing about cloth seats though is they can look like new after 10+ years and don't get hot haha.

When a family member sold their 14 year old 5-series M sport the seats looked better than that, so again either the leather is crappy or the owner didn't care, probably a bit of both. The A6 that we replaced it with also has very similarly bolstered S-Line seats that have no visible wear on them after 3 years and 4 times the mileage of that caddy.

All I am saying is that car probably had a rough life over those 7k miles because the damage/wear that is visible in the photos is all stuff that is extremely easy to avoid. Well I'm being picky, the front bumper also appears to be riddled with rock chips and what I think is the passenger side front tire looks like it has a chunk missing out of the side wall and there appears to be damage on that same rim.

That's a lot. Guess it was a decent short term investment for the owner if they actually got to enjoy it when they had it (though the 400 miles or so that got put on the car indicates otherwise!).

Looking at past sales (Buster etc), and BAT, there looks to be a $10-$15k premium for manuals over auto's on the Vagons.

I've read your replies since, speaking to bolster wear -- but what are you basing the whole generation (CTS-V) being a POS, on? Surely not a single ad.

10-15 is about right for a manual.

Well obviously Cadillac's ads aren't going to point to any faults haha - so of course not from an ad. When I test drove one - lots of creaks & rattles during the drive that I am not used to hearing, doors felt cheap when closed, some corners cut on finishing, etc. Apparently the leather doesn't wear well (as seen above). I drove it when it was still relatively new so this was a while ago now. I guess it's possible I drove a lemon, but it's consistent with other GM vehicles of that vintage I've been in or driven. Just didn't jive with the price, in my opinion and based on the exposure I had to it. I walked away with a fairly negative impression of it. It had lots of power, and it didn't have CUE, both of which are positives. Again, just my personal impression after a drive.

Now the C8, that is a GM product I would absolutely love to own.
