Libs might only win with a minority government.
Which won't matter with the NDP or Greens working with them..
Essentially it would be even worse for Alberta than it already has been.

Anecdotally, i don't think anyone except existing conservative voters care about this scandal.

And with Doug Ford not doing any favours to the Conservative brand in ON, i predict a Lib majority again unfortunately. Just my 2cents

Either way the FPTP system results go, the popular vote will show strong regional disparities in the voting trends. I just hope Kenney stops looking weak and starts using more hawkish language towards Confederation.

He's pretty weak, and it's going to lose us this election.

Hard to be hawkish while campaigning for the CPC. The federal conservatives don't plan on changing the equalization formula, which Kenney knows better than anyone.

EDIT: it’s also hard to not look weak when you try to be hawkish and everybody knows you can’t or won’t do anything about it anyway.

The fact that the federal conservatives would never consider throwing their strongest supporters a bone in terms of equalization is a great indicator that Confederation is broken.

As for Kenney, he needs to start removing the idea that he "won't", asap. A weak position is simply a continuation of the status quo, which should be considered unacceptable to anyone who lives and pays taxes in Alberta. You can't negotiate a better position unless you improve your leverage.

Kenney is going to be as nice as possible. That way he can say he exhausted all possibilities before going nuclear.

We should start the federal Alberta party. I think it could be a huge difference maker. The 35 seats would generally be the difference between a conservative majority and minority. Any time the conservatives won, they would be reliant on the 35 AB party votes. Like the reform party, but without the social conservatism.

The Reform Party of Canada (French: Parti réformiste du Canada) was a centre-right to right-wing populist[4][5][6][7][8][9][10] federal political party in Canada that existed from 1987 to 2000. Reform was founded as a Western Canada-based protest movement and eventually became a populist conservative party, with strong social conservative elements. It was initially motivated by the perceived need for democratic reforms and by profound Western Canadian discontent with the Progressive Conservative (PC) federal government of Brian Mulroney.

This, he isn't going to rock the boat too much until the federal election is over to ensure he doesn't give the Liberals ammo against the Conservatives.

But, if they Liberals win, he will go nuclear.

Im with you on this - fiscal conservatism but liberal socialism. The jesus ship has sailed (social conservatism) and those voters are disappearing rapidly.

Less drug laws, but tough on crime and more pro-victim policies.

Legal areas to do drugs, drugs legalized and available to all, taxed and subsidized. Education and treatment would be self-funded through the taxation. Would also vastly lower policing costs and medical costs to treat the repeat offenders.

No more revolving door on repeat offenders, which cost the system by far the most $$$ to keep dealing with.
