When we both worked full time, it was 50/50. For the last 6 years she has been a stay at home mom and she takes care of everything else.

I do help with cooking and we do groceries together and I do help clean up after dinner and stuff, but I also do all the outdoor man work.

I like it this way. I am kind of old school in that regard, but now that the kid is 10, she is thinking of getting a job, so things will go back to 50/50.

I am ridiculously fortunate. I'm currently running 12 companies and a ton of staff. I don't have time to do house stuff, nevermind indulge for myself. My husband on the other hand, is director level at a firm based out of Colorado. So, he works from home. He cooks and does some of the laundry, but the rest is the housekeeper and handyman. The most I think I've done around the house is do dishes after he cooks.

It is not conventional and it would not work for everyone - but it works for us. Add to it that we are constantly travelling (if you follow my IG, you know lol) and working out of town.

Wife works very part time while I work full time so we share duties respectively. I still tidy and do dishes, garbages, house repairs, stuff like that. but she does 95% of laundry, cleaning and cooking. but I thank her all the time for it, and we respect each other and I think we're both happy with how much weight we each pull around the house so I can't complain.

Slightly sideways question. Those of you on a higher duel income. Do any of you use maids/cleaning services..?

Yes we have a cleaner that comes once a week for 4 hours and cleans the whole place, costs about $20 an hour.

$20/hr and they don't steal your stuff? Damn that's a sweet deal.

Definitely. Do you know how hard it is to clean blood off the walls from gunshot wounds? It's bad enough the loser of the duel has to do the dishes.

Plot twist it is one of our old nannys. Mind you $20 under the table to do cleaning for 3 hours on a sunday is way more manageable financially than paying a nanny $16.50 + tax and overtime for 45 - 50 hours a week.

    We both work full-time.

I'd say the responsibilities are 50/50. I am definitely the cleaner one in the house, but she does all the grooming for the dog.

Nanny for the kids and cooking during the week.

Housekeeper comes in on the weekend for a full clean and some meals.

We add a gardener and lawn service in the summers.

The way we do everything is i start it and she finishes it. For example doing the dishes, i load the dishwasher and she empties it.

I suppose we have the same system of starting and finishing, except by starting I mean she gets distracted halfway through and goes to do something else.

I'm spoiled from my wife. Shes got dinner on the table by the time I'm home. She does most of the cleaning. Her mom stops by all the time to clean as well.

It bothers my co workers that dinner is always cooked for me and that my wife and I are old school traditional when it comes to the home. Certain expectations of her and me... it seems many people now a days think that's not proper.

When my wife was working 2 jobs we did for a couple years.

Let them go in Jan because I didn’t think we truly needed them and felt that quality of service was slowly declining over time / getting complacent. Didn’t really want to go through the effort of hiring someone new.

Beyond that, I really really didn’t like having people in my house. We had a pretty upper end cleaning service and they kept breaking things etc and not taking responsibility which drove me up the wall. I listened in on them cleaning on time through my security cameras and they spent the whole time shitting on us which seemed pretty ignorant when you are being paid good money and in your clients home... but that’s the nature of the kind of people you are going to find to literally clean up after you.
