Not every day you see amvic charging multiple people from a dealership. Those charged include dealer principle, business manager, sales manager and the sales person.

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.
wonder if the women has a self signing pen too
Dealers in your auto group aren't above fleecing one of their own; I'm sure they didn't think twice about fleecing an elderly woman. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I think by "charged" they meant fined. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
With the senior, could the situation have been, here lady X, buy this vehicle, she says ok and realizes the payment is too much. Goes back to the dealership and says I can't afford this car and they say we will take it back and give you this one which is cheaper. Lady X signs for the second car and thinks they took back the first one not realizing that in fact she is still owns it and has to pay for both vehicles.
Maybe she forgot she bought one and went back and got the second one?
If you have parents in 60s and 70s, you will find out how stupid they can actually get. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
They think they know better but they don't. This is why phone and email scam still work.
Old people also just get weird in general even if they are smart. My parents are very practical, smart individuals who have managed their lives very well. But they both are just reaching 60, and sometimes the dumb things they do is frustrating. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I would really love to know the story here. How does she get suckered into buying a second car while going in to complain that she can't afford the first one? Did she trade in the first one to buy the second one?
Story aside, i'm glad these guys got caught. Some of these guys are no better than the CRA / itunes cards scammers.

Seriously, voting anybody into power over the age of 60 seems insane to me, just because of how quickly mental faculties can degrade.
I went to that dealership once for service on the Jeep and that was the only time. The service side there sucks as well. I actually thought they might be better than the average Dodge (low bar...) because they were just out of town. Turns out I was very wrong.
Wow ....The woman went back to the dealership to try and fix the situation, and was reportedly sold a second vehicle.
And what charges exactly can AMVIC lay? The ones where guilty means you have to remove the AMVIC sticker from the front door?
Hah, nothing that strict. They'll pay a small fine and that's it. They'll keep the AMVIC sticker on the door. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Boy what a thread that was.
That article had to have left something out. I have a hard time believing she ended up with 2 cars, like someone else said i would guess she got tricked into buying a car she couldn't afford and when she went back they took that car back as a trade on something else.

I guessed it was either a Dodge, Ford or GM dealer before I clicked the title and was 0% surprised to see it was a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealer.
This is probably par for the course for the average dealer, these guys were just caught / made an example of. There is essentially no punishment so they will be right back at it with no incentive not to.
The only change is going to be that next time, they try to sell 3 cars to the same person after seeing how there is no consequence.

Fuck, I am sure the agent doing the selling won a top award internally in the dealer. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
My bet is that they took the first car back as a trade, but since it was now "used", put the value difference on top of the new cheaper car loan, making her payments similar, but for a lesser vehicle. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
