IIRC they stopped reducing photo radar fines at the beginning of the year in Alberta.

It’s not me but someone I know. 4 tickets over a 2 week span, SAME SPOT, maybe more to come in the mail. Going 70ish in a 60 zone. LOL I think it’s 114th ave se somewhere between 52 street and Barlow trail. That flash might not be bright enough to notice lol
Tried going to courthouse but nothing, no one to talk to, so looks like it’s court or just pay up.

There is a red light camera facing SB Barlow Tr and 114 Ave. SE.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It's still listed as a red light camera but I have heard rumors it is also a speed on green since the speed limit drops from 70 to 60 just before the lights.
Unfortunately, i can confirm that. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

This was area specific. I believe you're right for most of Alberta but Calgary was still offering reductions up until June 15. Unfortunately now for registered owner tickets the options are either court or pay the full fine. Here's the full wording from Crown:This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. “Effective June 15th, 2020 the Calgary Crown Prosecutor’s office will stop providing
reductions on intersection safety camera tickets and photo radar speeding
offences. This brings Calgary in line with the rest of the Province on how camera
tickets are handled on first appearance dates. There is no requirement for an automatic
reduction of tickets. Your right to defend yourself and present your arguments at trial
have not changed. You are still able to refer other matters that involve demerits or a
suspension of your driving privileges to the Crown at first appearance."
Speed on green on Barlow @ 114th (Deerfoot Inn) at least headed Northbound. Got my second ever mailed-out High Speed Driving award just last week, 75 in a 60, $126 I think. I have no frame of reference on the cost, it's probably been 10 years since I've had a photo radar. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Once I'm back in the office semi regularly in September I'd be willing to take a few of these to court. I'm guessing they'll still offer deals on the spot before trial.
I had some bylaw tickets (dog related) that went directly to court. Prosecutor and myself worked out a deal if I plead guilty. Still had to present it to the 'judge' who then accepted it.
If the same number of people fight tickets this way the system won't be able to handle it
Drove out to cochrane along the 1A yesterday and the RCMP were using a car with its hood up as a way to disguise their activities, I was explaining to my kids that they were being sneaky to try and fool people into thinking there was no police there to fine them and they were like "so you are saying cops are bad because they are trying to trick people..." FFS kids not all cops are bad but they shouldnt need to play tricks to fine more people.
