Its coming folks. This technology also allows them to track your car movements. And it'll need to be tied to insurance (obviously) so if you disable it, you aren't covered.

i'll bite. it's no different than most work trucks these days. almost all have gps speed tracking. part of their insurance too. that's why I don't drive for commercial companies anymore.
tesla's have the app with gps tracking as well. been out for a couple of years now. not to mention the thousands of sub prime trackers.
Whole lot of "could happen" in that article.
“Cut down on speed related vehicle deaths”

Yup, I remember the Drive-Right system we had in our trucks at Schlumberger, not sure if they still use them this was 15ish years ago. One of the guys I used to work with there bought our shop truck when we upgraded, he left the drive-right in the truck hidden and gave it to his kid Poor kid couldn't figure out how he was always getting in shit for speeding/racing light to light. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. But I identify as being a safe driver. So insurance should base that into the equation too.
Wouldn't make much difference as there isn't a lot of speed related deaths by comparison to other forms of death. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
That's another issue with this. They are talking about implementing a system that would cost $100's of millions (if not into the billions) to prevent maybe, MAYBE 1,000 deaths per year. Absolutely insane. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
