I do enjoy the mercedes sandbag by being safe last week and bringing something completely new for week 2
The dicknose though....
Ferrari mechanical fault today put seb into the wall.
McLaren setting some blistering single lap times, still think it's all show and no go. At least based on the long stint times.
Still interesting that the McLaren is posting laps as fast as last year's quali times when we're supposed to have less downforce this year.

F1 2019: Point for fastest lap set to be introduced at Australian GP
https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12...Buo_QqtRLDHwqo
Fastest lap point is stupid. See Formula E season closer 2 years ago to see why it's such a stupid idea. Entire race was the top 2 championship drivers trying to figure out how to block each other vying for a clean fastest lap as that point was the title decider. Then both retiring in the race.

Just saw the 1st episode last night, and the quality is off the charts. I will the entire season was aired in 4k...
Too bad Mercedes and Ferrari were not as forthcoming as the other teams when it comes to access. I think Ferrari gave more access as their season was decided for them, but it's very light on them from what I've read.
Big +1 on this. Holy shit it’s night and day and I only have pseudo HDR...This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

https://f1metrics.wordpress.com/2019...ason-analysis/
Detailed analysis which came with nearly the same results as my prediction. I had swapped Alfa and Racing point from my initial prediction after the conclusion of test 2 which matched his analysis. Renault was the only one that was different between my prediction as his, and he was inconclusive about Renault. Reason I moved Renault up was because they had some outlier sector times that showed way more performance than the full lap times suggest, which hinted at a bit of sandbagging.
Wish I had the time to write up my full analysis like he did.

So good. The mental fall of Grosjean shows how much pressure these drivers get

I look forward to this guys analysis every year... he does an awesome job. It will be VERY interesting to see if his 64-36 prediction of Leclerc / Vettel pans out
I'm crossing my fingers and toes the Honda engines pan out for RBR, for the sake of being a fan of both the team and a Honda fanboi.
Predictions based on gut:
1) Mercedes
2) Ferrari
3) Red Bull
4) Renault
5) Toro Rosso
6) Haas
7) Racing Point
8) McLaren
9) Alfa
10) Williams
No love for McLaren this year Phreezee...?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I've drank the Marko kool-aid.
1)Honda > Renault
2)Sainz is over-rated
3)Norris will be slightly behind Sainz
For those reasons, I can't see them beating the works team (Hulkenberg/Ricciardo are stronger as well) or any car powered by a Ferrari/Mercedes/Honda other than Alfa or Williams.
