did you see the beginning of the video where he also "pushed in like a douchebag" from the very right lane? the hypocrisy of not letting him in considering he did the exact same thing literally 10 seconds before is what kills any sympathy (from me anyways). there is absolutely no reason for him to hold his ground and squeeze the guy out.... he's just asking for trouble at that point. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. 1st time seeing the video, came to the same conclusion. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Just let people in, given most truck drivers are douchebags anyway with nothing to lose.
Was the first thing I noticed. At first I thought how nice, he's leaving room for others to merge in, then proceeded to accelerate right to the bumper of the car ahead. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

i don't know how anybody could NOT blame the OP, he douchebag/hypocrites several times and then doesn't brake when he had plenty of time, he was obviously distracted or something, the truck didn't even lock them up or anything and the OP didn't even seem to touch the brakes until the last second.

Good ol' selective quoting. We all saw the same video so your rhetorical question is worthless. Just because we established that it would have been easier to bend over backwards and let the truck push his way in (), doesn't mean that's the only thing we focus on. Then came all the posts about pushing in at the last second and saying "well yeah you're supposed to be courteous when I do this, don't be a dickhead, it's just the zipper method"
OP was cruising neck and neck with the Ford SUV at 0:22 and doesn't even start his lane pass until 0:35.
Meanwhile, dieselbro comes into frame at 0:51 with what, 3 more meters of full-width road until his driver side front wheel is on the shoulder and trying to push in on the next 5 seconds? You can tell this is the same kind of driver who likes to jockey for first position and will barge in however he wants to make it happen. Buddy doesn't even consider slowing down at that point and maybe going behind OP. Seen it a million times on the road. Zipper method works when both parties are courteous and both try to facilitate smooth traffic flow, neither of which happened from both the drivers.
This thread evolved into so much OP bashing that it's not even one sided anymore.
See, right here, they're both assholes who need to jockey for first... but the guy in the truck didn't post it here looking for backup. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Nobody is disupting the truck guy is a jackass, but the OP is equally at fault.

I hate pickup truck drivers as much as anyone but how can't you bash the OP for being the catalyst in the situation? Driving isn't hard and if you want to stay out of conflict on the roads, don't antagonize d-bags by driving like a d-bag yourself.

I'm happy some of you aren't police, your detective skills suck. The truck next to the one he ran into clearly starts braking. What happens is the truck that is ran into starts braking a bit too late due to whatever is going on, so he hammers on the brakes more aggressively. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. And OP was asleep at the wheel, what in the actual f*&k is going on there?
I hadn't seen the videos, I assumed that this was at highway speeds or something, but nope, in nice slow traffic. ANYONE who speeds up to prevent a merge is a god damn cock sucker. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Additionally, the easiest attitude change to have while driving (besides the zipper merge) is simply allow 1 person in. If EVERYONE allows one person in, there would never be a problem with merging. And of course, people merging actually have the right of way. So its basically required of you anyways.
Damn say no more after watching that video

You love calling people out, but you're an idiot. Truck in the right lane is braking earlier because you can see there's a much longer line of cars on the right side than there is the left. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
You see any cars in left lane at 0:13? How about at 0:16 right before OP passes into the lane?
"due to whatever is going on." breezing past that and pretending like you established the fact of the century doesn't give a pass on talking out of your ass, but you know what they say about he who talks the loudest.
There was definitely some terrible driving from both going on. But that doesn’t make OP a victim.

Sorry OP, but you're SOL. Insurance does not care what happened before impact. As mentioned, he can say he saw a gopher, a dog, a shadow, a pothole etc, etc, etc.
In the end, you were following too closely.
I came in here excited because from the title, I assumed that you didn't let him in and he rode the shoulder and then tried to get in and hit you. That would have been extremely,y interesting, as I have always wondered who comes out at fault in a case like that.
@Ferio_vti , have your driving habits changed since this thread? haha
