Great choice. I switched to a brother color laser ~10 years ago. Gave it away to a buddy who needed a laser printer so I could upgrade and get a new Brother to get AirPrint compatibility. Both printers still going strong. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I use Lexmark for the business. Their toner return program cuts the cost by about half.
Printers are a crapshoot though, we stopped selling them years ago. People could have a computer that stalls on them every ten minutes and you'd still have fewer complaints than a slightly problematic printer.
Which one do you have, Rage? I have a Samsung C430W now but I really would like something that does duplex printing. I don't know if a printer for at-home use also has the top-load paper scanner but certainly would be nice.
Some quick comparisons seems to point me to the Brother MFC-L3770CW for what I'm looking for.

I paid way less than that, want to say it was on sale at $300.
edit - don't think mine does duplex printing though.

I fucked up in my original post and had too many 7's. I bought the MFC-L3750CDW which is a colour printer. The 3770 is one step up from what I have and the only real difference is NFC printing with androids, the multipurpose tray that flips out of the front can hold multiple sheets versus mine which is one at a time, and it can do duplex scanning where I think mine is one side at a time for scans. But for what I paid it does everything I could ever want from a home user. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

The 3770 is on sale via Staples or Amazon for $379.99, down from $549.99. Sale ends today. You might be able to go to Bestbuy and deal with them for the 10% difference since they're still advertising it for regular price, I think that'd save you a few more dollars.
Duplex scanning and printing at home FTW.

I have a duplex scan/print unit from brother. We scan a shitpile of medical shit for the kids so that save a lot of hassle. Quality still not close to the commercial scanners at most offices, but good enough.

This thing is a beast and also the cat's ass, wireless setup works perfect. Not looking forward to buying ink for it though at $400 for the OEM high yields
