Default Quadriga wallets finally opened - $137M gone

CEO dies, said "only he has the keys" to unlock digital wallets. But somehow they find a way, and - all the money was removed before the CEO kicked the bucket, so none of the investors get anything back for sure.

Well played Gerald, well played. Nova Scotians never saw it coming.

I mean, that's the reason you create an exchange, right? There isn't another end-game is there?

If you want the bigger conspiracy. He is actually alive and hiding out in India right now.

My coworkers and I have been following this since the start. Apparently it’s very cheap and easy to get a fake death certificate in India. We assumed that was the case right from the start.

No shit. I mean, is there anyone on earth that doubts this?!
He will not be alive for long however. He's made some powerful enemies.

If he is alive, somebody will eventually drop a dime on him, especially with a reward that's $100k and likely to increase as the story gets more traction.

Call me crazy but hammering real money into fake money with no oversight or recourse seems crazier than putting your life savings on a hard 8.

I have a buddy with money in there. He talked me into it 2 years ago, but my bank botched the wire transfer and I gave up.

It's not stuck there. It's not there at all. Your money is gone. Creditors and large investors will get whatever crumbs are to be had. Lawyers get the crumbs of the crumbs.

I had about $50.00 worth of bitcoin leftover from a transaction, parked at a site I forget the name of. When bitcoin soared I remembered I had it, went to sell it and that site no longer bought/sold bitcoin.
They recommended Quadriga, so I transferred it there and sold for about $3000.00
Should have transferred it to my bank, but got lazy.

No doubts there. He's for sure hiding out in Mumbai or Bangalore.

I thought it was odd how quickly the girlfriend moved to shuffle assets around as well.
