Last time I was at Heathrow I saw people dressed like they could be homeless going into the Emirates lounge which looked like a palace
Thats what many self-made multi-million/billionaires do - almost no fucks given about their appearance or their perception on social media.

Meanwhile I'm in the senator lounge in Frankfurt, with fucking 60$ Walmart sweat pants ... LOL (no millionaire here)

I guess I just don’t see the point of dressing differently from day to day to sit on an airplane or in a lounge?

If sweatpants are standard day to day affaire, then carry on.

They're going treat us like cattle, I'm damn well going to be as comfortable as I can. Makes security easier too. No belts to fart around with. I don't fly enough to get the lounge treatment so I don't care. I don't dress like a total slob but sweats are my go to.

I don’t think I own a pair of sweatpants lol.
So you just hangout at home wearing jeans/pants at all times?

Walmart $60 sweatpants? I call bullshit on this one. They had to be $25 max from there.

I dress differently when I travel. Plane, car, doesn't matter. I'm going to be comfortable, and change when I get to my destination (or not, depending on what I'm doing).

I mean, I'm in shorts and slides at the office in India, don't change at the airport as I'm already in my comfy attire. By the time I land in Calgary, fuck yea I'm changing cuz it's -20C outside haha.

I'm surprised by the amount of surprise of this. I don't own any sweats either, and wear jeans/pants most of the day as well.

Lol Westjet has always sucked. Most of their long flights these days don’t even have a fucking plug in plus no screen. Impossible to get any work done if your on a laptop.
They're working on pulling out the old LiveTV on all aircraft and putting in the WestJet Connect IFE (streaming media to your own device via onboard wifi, plus internet available). Connect aircraft also have 120VAC and 5VDC available at each seat. I haven't been on a non connect flight in a long time now, not sure how many they have left to do.

I’ve never understood the cult following of WJ. It’s alwys been same shit different pile to me.

At least AC has business/first class.

Plus is alright for having a few drinks on the way down to the Caribbean, but their meals and little middle seat insert is pretty bushleague. Albeit I understand their new planes are nicer (until they were grounded lol. )
The middle seat insert is going away and is being replaced with 2x2 seating for the first three rows. On the 787 the premium seats are quite nice and WestJet now offers a full business class product on this plane too, including reverse herringbone pod seats.

i just did a trip to Winnipeg, and there was no food going either way
If I'm not mistaken this is a temporary thing as they transition to being a premium airline. All the 737s are getting ovens installed so there will be hot meal options. There is still food available on less than 4 hour flights but limited options (I had a chicken cesar wrap last flight).

Got it, 787’s and all the grounded planes are super nice. The rest it’s a trip to the 90’s. Haha

How is that nuts? First impressions are very important, when I'm traveling its usually a mix of business and pleasure, never know who you'll meet. I've had many opportunities in life, that I don't think I'd have if it looked like I just rolled out of bed. I"ve met many people in airports at random.

I wouldn't sacrifice comfort to look good, but that's not a high bar. But if I was rich, I truly wouldn't give a crap. But I'm not, so I need to for now. Its not a big sacrifice.

I'm always in comfy clothes(sweats/shorts/hoodie) while traveling. Granted, day to day I'm in coveralls so comfort is of the most importance to me haha.

I echo this. I meet and/or run into clients or others travelling all the time. I will dress comfortably on flights, but do try to be somewhat presentable.

I got mistaken for an Asian tv or movie star on a business class flight from Montreal to Vancouver. I must be doing something right.
