I would assume it's like driving in a sim vs on a track. A sim is fun, but you don't feel acceleration, cornering g's etc since you're stationary.
Except there is still some actual motion even in a land based skydive unit - it's not like you're lying on the floor with VR goggles on.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Will fuck off, again.
Well, yeah of course there's some motion. There's motion in a racing sim too, it's just nothing like you experience on a track.
I mean I've done the sim and the track, but haven't done either version of skydiving; I could be completely out to lunch. I'd like to hear the opinion of someone who's done them all haha.
I think the sensation would be close, aside from the initial "jumping out of the plane" thing. There shouldn't be significant acceleration after that point, and it's mostly wind resistance that acts on you.

The physical sensation will be the same. The mental stimulation, assuredly not.
I'd liken it to driving 200kph through the desolate prairies, vs 200kph through a forest with tree line only a couple of meters away from the road.
There’s a reason that so many of the squirrel suit guys die, they don’t get to see the speed they’re moving at unless they’re near ground or trees for reference.
Depending on price will be a cool date night
If its like Toronto's location it should be around $70-75 for 2 flights, $105-125 for 4 flights https://www.iflytoronto.com/online-shopping-gift-cardThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

When you actually jump out of a plane you have no idea you are actually falling at speed towards the ground with the exception of lots of wind noise and pressure on you. 15,000 ft and 10,000 feet up the ground looks very similar. Its not until you are closer to the ground that actually realize "holy shit I am high!!!"
I will go and let you guys know how the indoor one compares. PS, Australia was the best place to jump!

Took the kids to try it out tonight. Oldest enjoyed it, did the VR package, which feels a lot different than looking inside a tube. Our 3 year old did it as well, but on his high flight had trouble breathing because he didn't do the full face mask. He's trying it again next time with a full mask because he wants to fly like Iron Man.
Surprised there's really no age limit for this, instructors are really good with the kids.
