Notley couldn't even get through her closing remarks without bringing up Kenney. Do they have nothing to campaign on?

I'm just watching the debate now and noticed she was also the first to open personal attacks against Kenney.

I started watching at 6:00 but it seemed that Kahn was taking the high ground for the most part compared to the others. He might have thrown the odd punch but Notley and Kenney seemed to be doing the most of the attack comments. Mandell had thrown a few more towards the end. So far my vote is for Kenney but I will review what each party platform is about.

They won the last campaign because of 'this is what they will do' so it makes sense they'd have to resort to the same message again.

Alberta employment rate is as bad as it was during the recession.

Need an extra 50,000 jobs to get back to previous levels.

Don't worry, the NDP can just hire another 50k public employees, that'll really juice the economy lol.

There wasn't really a clear winner in the debate, but there was a clear loser. And that was Notley. She had to defend her record and it looks like she can't be in defensive mode. I thought she would do better.

I was surprised that Kenney really didn't flip off the handle. He did not too bad and stayed the course. The debate was really Kenney's to lose and I don't think he lost.

When have the NDP ever had success running on their record?

The entire philosophy behind the NDP and why they exist is juvenile and unrealistic, and it backfires every time. They are much better when they can throw stones and not have to be proven to be idiots.

Well yah, trying to defend her record on finance and economy would be a tough sell to most Albertans.

Did you know that Kahn was a Constitutional Lawyer?

100%. The NDP appeal to people because they speak of ideals rather than realities. Better education, better healthcare, better environment, jobs for everyone, etc. etc. etc.

Once the reality that those things cost money becomes apparent they can no longer sell people with an ounce of economic sense on those utopian dreams.

Just turn off your heat and wear a sweater. You think you have a right to be comfortable in your own home??!

The 3 has to work to win hearts and minds and Kenney just need to not question Notley's math.

There were no winners last night, just losers. I grew a bit more positive for Kahn but that label won't win in this province, rightly or wrongly.

Kenney got this, not that if there is any doubt anyway.

UCP made some changes to their platform doc. Weird that they made this edit pass now, still looking at the changes but it seems like wordsmithing for the most part https://draftable.com/compare/zWmZJMDHiMZP

edit edit - some actual changes on pg. 30 for O&G policy.

Well people really didn’t like how their time and a half thing was worded so I don’t see the issue in clarifying.

Gets owned on the debate and secretly rewrites the new platform.

    Completely consistent with shady Kenney.
