    Default Is it possible to change perception?

    Like the blue and black dress that was also white and gold. And then Yanni and Laurel.

    It seems that even with concerted long term effort, people can't seem to change their own perception as being anything other than "right". If you grew up worshipping purple (team colour, or monarchy) then you have an impossible time cheering for the red or green team.

    I mean, how do you tell a scientist that the earth is a doughnut? Is it even possible to change, or should it simply be left to the next generation?
    Cocoa $10,000 per ton.

    Changing intuition is an uphill battle but introspection and reasoning go a long way to changing that.

    Of course you can change perspectives. If you ram a falsehood down someones throat long enough, they start to believe it. Just look at "global Warming", how many people believe whole heartedly in that nowadays despite the lack of scientific evidence?

    Same deal with Doughnut earth. If you could warp some data and cherry pick some anecdotal science, you could make it appear legitimate. The issue would be getting enough of the mainstream on board to start brain washing the general public.

    Have you never changed your mind on something? Or have someone teach you something? If the answer is no to those I would say the person is very narrow minded.

    Yay for NASA!! They can read thermometers. Feel free to believe whatever headline you want without ever taking into consideration the actual content. But thanks for demonstrating the validity of what I originally posted.

    What a weak retort. Then again, when your position lacks anything resembling substance, I suppose that's the best you can do.

    No trolling here. Your minds are already made up, so what is the purpose of me typing out pages of retort?

    Yeah sure, let's just completely ignore that;

    93% of GHG is released through natural processes
    CO2 has the lowest greenhouse effect of any of the GHG's
    Water vapor by and large is the biggest greenhouse effect culprit
    CO2 follows temperature, not the other way around
    The only graphs showing temperature following CO2 do not include a few major climatic events

    But please tell me again how humans are the sole cause of rising temperatures.
