The other thing that has happened in classrooms over the last 4 years is the increase in numbers of children per class and reduction and cutting of teachers support/special needs support.
My mother (a teacher) has said that the policy of trying to integrate special needs into the regular classroom has completely destroyed it for both regular and special needs students. She doesn't just hate the NDP, but everything about our education system

I think I'll just take a dart with me, throw it and where it lands will be my vote as I just do not see any great choices out there this time around.
    Will fuck off, again.

That's interesting. I've always thought that concept was... Wait for it... Retarded.
I don't know if "honours" classes still exist but they were the greatest thing simply because it got rid of the ~2 morons in every class who bogged everything down and caused nothing but distraction and degradation. We could just get our work done and GtFO. There was no superior instruction or enrichment other than Tommy-Bear Cardinal not being in your class anymore.

Any kind of segregated class is awesome. Although it would have been nice if you could have found a non-racist way to say that. Try to be better next time.

I went to school with TommyBear Cardinal and he was a piece of shit. So was Mike Kowalski. It was a fucking Benetton ad of shit heads. It's quite simply not racist.

For those who were talking about a minority government, here's polling that's been translated into seats, current to March 20th:

Must be wrong, no Fildebrandt Conservative party seats.

Forgot to post the link. That's the CBC polltracker, whish aggregates all publicly released polls.

No poll is perfect, but if you are going to look at polls at all, I really like Eric Grenier's analysis. I know I've posted before that I am a bit of a polling analysis honk. I find the polls more interesting than the platforms.

I was just joking, but also now I'm disappointed. I really wanted a minority government. I can't stand Kenney. He needs someone to check him once in awhile, and no one in his party is going to do that.

A UCP lead minority was my best case scenario for this election.

UCP NDP minority would have just meant another election in a year.

Hopefully this isn't just election grandstanding. I think JK might actually have the balls to come through with it. A hawkish approach to confederation is a winning strategy right now.

Funny thing is a lot of teachers hate the NDP, I don't know a single teacher who has voted for them (My wife is a teacher and has this discussion with her teacher friends)
The other thing that has happened in classrooms over the last 4 years is the increase in numbers of children per class and reduction and cutting of teachers support/special needs support. Needless to say the ndp has not helped them at all despite what they are trying to say.
But then what would they expect the UCP to do that would change it?

As misterman said, they don't plan to be cutting the carbon tax, corporate tax, and income tax.

And conceivably, what could Brian Jean or Jim Prentice have been able to do in regards to pipelines and other projects? Would they have been singlehandedly able to push Keystone, Energy East, or Transmountain through?

Now I don't agree with all of NDP's policies, but frankly I chalk up a lot of what the NDP has done to poor timing. If they were able to enact their policies during the boom era, I think the province would be taking daily dips in a Scrooge McDucky vault.

But at the very least, the NDP doesn't have social policies that cause me to be concerned for some of the province's minorities.

Wasn't he part of the Harper cabinet that revised the equalization formula to it's current form?

The NDP believed a policy of appeasement with the Feds and the enviro-crazies was the best path forward. This was a historically bad mis-calculation. Presumably they did this because it felt better to their own anti-oil sentiments.

Yes he was. But if the Fed Conservatives had made the formula more favorable for Alberta, there would have been chaos across the country from everyone else. At the time, he was a federal politician who was federal politicking.

No politician of any stripe has any need or motivation to cater to even the simplest of Alberta's interests.
