Thats not really correct. The military (both superpowers) equipment likely noticed this within SECONDS (top officials, within minutes). This took place over the Bering Strait on a cold Dec night. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Also it never actually landed.

Ok, exploded. Still, that should be that more noticeable. I can imagine the big governments kept it for themselves to look for the easier to recover pieces that came off it.

Bearing sea isn't exactly well populated not surprising it wasn't well known
So what I'm hearing is that an alien spacecraft crash-landed and the rescue/recovery joint mission with the USA and Russia became more of a "cleanup" one it was determined that the aliens were hostile. It's a huge step forward in USA/Russia cooperation and could lay the groundwork for a new military alliance, but with the guns/nukes/lasers pointed skyward this time.

I say stupid shit all the time.
No gamma radiation, it was a standard explosion. Which would be almost impossible to reproduce, as the biggest conventional explosion is around MOAB (Mother of all Bombs) at a paltry and absolutely pathetic 11 tons of TNT.
And I will add: Technically the meteor broke up on "influence" with the earth. Even though it did not hit the "sphere" part of it, it still was enough to crush it to bits... Doughnut earth biotches! I'm telling you, its the future.
