Banks are Crazy now a days, TD is only allowing you to withdrawal 5k at a time (per Branch) but you can withdrawal the 5k then go to the ATM and withdrawal more and they can convert it after to $100s if you want.

Any idea why there is only a 5k limit on withdrawals?

If I withdrew over 10k and later on I go to put it back into my bank and can show It was in my bank will I have issues? I'm assuming not?

Talk to the branch manager if they won't let you withdraw. That's horseshit.
There's no "trouble" with larger deposits. It's easy, it's not going to harm you. You just say where the money came from. You don't need any "strategy" or anything.

Had to go to a couple branches always the same thing, one was 5k but only $2,500 in 100s (new bank location so understandable) another 5k and another 5k. non ever let you take out over 5k.

Yah I assumed there would be not issues depositing it back in the future since the money can be showed where it's coming from.

I don't understand why banks limit to such a small amount but I kind of do as well.

Because if someone showed up with your bank card and pin. You would be pretty pissed off if they walked away with thousands of your money and you would expect the bank to eat that risk.

Jump through a few hoops and chat with the manager in advance, they feel far better about the transaction and will let you take more.

He might've been a drug dealer. Have a relative (mitsu'd), that sold a boat. Over $20k in cash. It was surely from growing pot, and the buyers were gonna start washing their money through a "boat/fish guiding experience". As long as the cash isn't counterfeit, I'd take it.

Curious, what are the regulations to overseas transfers into Canadian bank account? Ie. if I relocate back to Canada, will transfers of over 200k USD require special handling or potential hold?
