    Default BOV that doesn’t whistle

Google is really letting me down, does this exist? New to the FI game but hate BOV’s that chirp/whistle and would really like one that doesn’t...

I've also run no BOV on a couple builds. No issue with that either. One less thing to fuck with, trying to have it shut at idle but still sprung light enough to open when lifting after boost, or having it leak, etc.

Depends on the setup, my 2G eclipse has a BOV but it is married back into the intake, pre turbo, to maintain airflow metering consistently. It only whistles slightly. From my quick searching, the more pricier units tend to not whistle.

Blitz Super Sound. More like a wooosh

The HKS SSQV sounds like a high pitched whistle

I've ran damn near every BOV out there. HHKS SSQV is a better design than your run of the mill BOV but is super distinct sounding, although there are a few different inserts you can get to modify the sound.

only ones that come to mind are:

Blitz - Sounds Like Really Loud Sneeze (I run two of these vented to atmosphere on my DSM)
Tial - Most subtle non whistle but poor performance partial throttle.
Synapse - Good performer and uses a similar design as the HKS with a much different sound.
Greddy RS - Big Whoosh sound most similar to most OEM BOVs. Not to be confused with the type S which is the BOV from the early F&F

SQV with no fins sounds ok, I've run that on both the turbo Civics I built.

Here's a couple samples of my cars.

Red Civic with SQV with no fins

Black Civic with SQV with no fins (Skip to 1:40)

    Aristo with Tial 50mm

    540i with no BOV

M5 with a Vortech Maxflow BOV

    Mustang with no BOV

Bypass valves that recirculate back to the intake don't really make whistle sounds unless you vent to atmosphere.

What exactly are you looking for or planning to do?

3000gt recirc valve vented to atmosphere is a pretty classic pshh sound and should hold up better than a 2G dsm bov.

GFB makes some that just sound like a woosh. This one is their adjustable Respons style.

If you want load and stupid go with a Turbo XS RFL, ran that on the car for a couple years got sick of all the noise as it would go off even if you dipped into low boost which became very annoying, ended up buying a recirc BOV and never looked back.

As far as the factory 3000GT/Stealth bov is concerned they are prone to leaking and premature wear and most owners either go aftermarket or with a 1G DSM BOV(inexpensive)

I would go with a Greddy Type-S. It can hold a lot of boost, it is adjustable and it isn't as loud and annoying as many of the other BOV

On my vw/audi 1.8T and 2.0Ts I had diverter valves and they made a nice little woosh sound. Not sure if they would work on other cars or not.

Did my celica's spring maintenance today and took this clip on the test drive. Its the TurboXS type H RFL thats vented to atmosphere. I think it would be obnoxious for everyday driving but for a weekend toy it works great.
