Turbo Inlet Pipe under full throttle

I have an inexpensive silicone TIP in the Audi TT and when I go under full throttle i feel a "chocking" and hesitation at mid to higher rpms. I am running 22lb of boost so it makes me think that its not getting enough air or the TIP is collapsing under full boost.

I have ordered a new foam air filter and considering taking the TIP and MAF out to see if i run into the same problem.

any thoughts or pointers?

It's entirely possible. I've seen silicone inlets get sucked closed on Subarus, especially cheap aftermarket ones. Make one out of tube and straight couplers if you can.

I think I'm going to take off the TIP completely and go for a quick rip where there is no dust or water, I believe this should narrow down to see if it is TIP related or not.

Clean the MAF while in there? Possibly if your filter is oiled, the oil is all over the MAF causing issue.
Use proper sensor cleaner.

thanks for the heads up, i will clean the MAF. The filter I'm using right now a paper filter from the s2000 as it has a large surface area but paper filter doesn't flow as good. The foam one i ordered should help, neither need to be oiled though

Not sure how well your car will run with the MAF taken out...

Yea you can’t remove the MAF, the vehicle will go into limp mode. Were you maybe referring to something else?

Also worth considering spark blow out.
