Default "Believe in moon landing" hiring criteria.

Ok, so everyone knows its wrong to hire/fire based on religious belief.

But what about for a job that requires two feet firmly planted in reality, say construction - where you might need something done in two months instead of two years. Is it right to deny hiring if that person believes man landed on the moon?

Just asking for a friend *cough*

Well if you don't say anything who cares. If they catch wind you maybe asked to get a sky hook, steam sample, or maybe even a wood stretcher.

What is the point of this particular episode? It's neither thought provoking, interesting, an actual topic, or worthwhile.

    Get a (different) hobby.

Well, lets say its with limited resources - like a Robert Falcon Scott expedition. No one will die if isn't completed in time, but it will be quite an inconvenience. Say, point A to C, but point B doesn't have an available fuel or restocking depot.

As with all things, funding and equipment does not really exist at this point in time (And no, I'm not building a border wall in two years)

I mean, you have two people - equally qualified otherwise. They just happen to have a difference in belief systems (and not whether Jeebus, Muhammed or the matrix) Do you pick Buzz Aldrin, or unnamed Sherpa guy to get you to the top of Everest?

Totally on-topic, but falcon is a badass middle name.

I get the oddest feeling this should be a coin flip type of thing, belief systems of any sort should not be a factor - But its definitely nagging on my mind.

Haha, its too bad a guy actually had to freeze to get recognition.

I'm thinking Buzz Aldrin would use ponies instead of dogs. This is the dilemma.

Should an anti-vaxxer be able to get a job at a pharmaceutical company? Should a doughnut-earth beliver work at space-x?

Seems a bit tempermental to me.

Some positions require people to just do their job and not think too much about it. I'd probably want someone who didn't spend their time thinking too much about the moon landing.

Seriously, am I the only one that goes "man, I wish this person had just done what I asked versus trying to act smart and doing what they thought was better" ?
