I’m throwing my summers on this week, crossing my fingers 😬

May long weekend. We always seem to get our last winter storm that weekend. Last year was the first time in a long time we didn't get it.

I’ll be in BC for May long weekend, so won’t need to worry about that. Just hoping we don’t get some crazy dump that stays on the ground now.

I have an SUV with all-seasons just in case, but was just curious if anyone else was making the change sooner then later?

I'm keeping my studded on to protect myself from people who swap too early

    This.

This is Alberta after all. We always get that one last dump to signify winter is finally over

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

I risked it after the 10-14 day forecast improved dramatically, and put my all seasons on. We had the wheel change assembly line going on at my parents' place so I had to get in on that - can get a car swapped over in about ~15 mins.

Nah, ignore all the advice in this thread. Put your summers on now- you won't regret it.

Most of my vehicles have summers on now. Will probably just keep my winters on the truck all year since I won’t be driving it much until hunting season anyways.

Been driving on my true summers for 2 weeks now, and has been more than fine.

I always have the option to just drive my Jeep day to day though.

And we always get a dump in September yet nobody is popping their winters on in late Aug. Unless you're gonna run winters all year long you're gambling on a sneak attack snowfall at some point. I'm pulling the trigger this weekend.

I'm too lazy to swap. ARe there any services that can do it at your home? Like a home detailer?

    No, I'm not Inrich.

Big difference between summers and all seasons.... all seasons are perfectly fine. And if you keep winters on instead of all seasons your money is literally melting away. Sure it'll snow again but it won't stick enough to justify the need of winters....if you have summers on though you are paying with fire.

Pretty big difference. I can take an hour one evening if snow is in the forecast to get my winters on, they're going to be on for the next 6 months after that point anyway. I'm sure as hell not going waste time swapping on summers, knowing full well I will very likely have to swap winters back on for a few days just to leave my garage, and then go right back to summers again.
