    Default Tire Shop Recommendation - Deviating from stock sizes

    Hi Guys,

    Looking into getting some new rubber this Spring/Summer and wondering if people on here have recommendations on a shop that will be willing to work with me on deviating from stock sizes. What I am looking for really is experience and solid advice on sizing for my car, rather than someone to quote me the owners manual from the system. I can read forums all day long about what will work but I am looking for someone who actually knows what they are talking about to get this all done up.

    If anyone is interested in details I would like to go wider, hopefully by 20mm all around, on my stock rims. With Micheline PS4S to replace the garbage Dunlops that came stock ( someone is going to get a screaming deal on these as they are brand new ).

    This would be:
    F: 245/35R19 -> 255 or 265/35R19
    R: 265/35R19 -> 285/35R19

    UrbanX still the place to go? Bob if you see this feel free to let me know if this is something you can help with.

    I know I know... My modding n00bness is definitely showing here, thread to put on wider tires

    Seemed like a more interesting topic than continuously arguing about whether or not Jason Kenney is actually Satan...

    Very mild modification, and bob can help you out in-person or on the phone if he doesn't chime in of this thread.

    I have nothing to add other than 255/35/19 is a lot closer to the overall diameter of 245/35/19 than 265/35/19 on the front, and 285/35/19 in the rear will be 0.6” overall diameter larger.

    @tirebob runs Urban Expressions wheel and tire at 1303 44 Ave NE. A lot of beyonders go to him for tires because of his excellent service.

    If you're not getting aftermarket wheels make sure you take into consideration what the stock wheel width can accommodate. Those stock sizes could be rim width max as well

    Also willtheyfit.com works too

    Good points. I am stock mostly because I like them. If I need new rims I’ll probably toss the C63 coupe rims on which are just a bit bigger.

    I don’t think I’m really pushing the envelope though before you start breaching 300 width.

    We will see what we come up with!

    Go see Kyle at Spec-R-Motorsports good prices, touchless equipment and tons of knowledge as he has been involved in motorsports for a long time. As an added bonus he will likely let you use his simulator while you wait if you ask nicely.

    I know people running 285s RE71Rs on 8.5" rims. Adding an additional 20mm front and rear on stock sizes will not be a problem at all particularly when working with a tire that has a less stiff (relative to a RE71R) sidewall.

    OP are you going for looks or performance? (ie are you running out of grip already - its a C63, so back end = yes.... lol)

    Was there a specific incentive to choose that specific brand/model of tire? (PS4S)

    This is all performance, my tires aren’t even worn out. I had the PSS on my last car and really. Liked them. Never wanted for grip (with admittedly substantially less power and torque). And I have heard absolutely nothing but good things on the PS4S’s.

    Just typical undertired AMG problems, my traction control light is a constant companion.

    lol, completely forgot about that.

    I think most places don't care much as long as it is within reason and matches/exceeds the load rating. I was running narrower taller winter tires and then on my G35 it was different kijiji sizing compared to stock.

    Just double check your sizing which your choices look fine. PS4S sound great though from the reviews. That would be what I would get next.

    I’ve also heard great things about PS4S, PSS were good tires and these are supposed to be better in ever way.
