Default Key won't go fully into ignition

    Hi Everyone,

I have a 2015 Honda civic LX 4dr sedan, manual transmission.

I've been having this issue where I try to put in the key and it just doesn't go fully in the ignition. The key goes in a little and get stuck. This is the correct key. I fiddle with it several times, trying to turn the wheel, and I keep trying to push in and out and then once out, I put it back in. After fiddling for at least 5 mins, it finally lets the key in and lets me turn the car on.

I have two keys with fob that this is having an issue with. Surprisingly, the valet key is not having this issue. The valet key slides in like a normal key, and has no issues. I'm not sure what's going on or how to fix. Please help!!

Not there to see it myself, but based on your description it sounds like your key is getting worn out. Just seems weird that it would be both keys, unless they both get used pretty equally?

I do find this somewhat common with older Hondas, but a 2015 seems unlikely unless it has a ton of city miles on it already. Your car probably has a fob so you don't use the key in the door locks ever. You could try the door locks to see if they give you issues as well.

Does a 2015 not still have warranty?

Sounds like a stuck tumbler. Get some dry graphite powder or spray and put some in the cylinder. Don't use a spray lube, they will gum up the cylinder and then you will need to replace it. Work the key in and out a few times to work the lube in and see if that works.
