Default Building a Bunk House ( glorified shed )

So I need to build a bunk house with a maximum interior space of 80 sq feet.

Any engineers here want to make a quick buck and do some drawings up for me so I can plan how much wood I’ll need?

Quick question also - I will be putting it on a concrete slab - can I just put the wood on the pad or should I put plastic under the wood?

You should probably use sill sealer. I just used pt wood for the bottom plate of my shed.

    Also what’s a bunk house?

I kind of doubt he's building a true bunkhouse or at least not in the sense of what the CPR used to have back in the 60 and 70's. More like he's building a big doghouse for himself for when he's in trouble.

On a serious note, the location matters to the design. I'm partial to a single-pitch roof for rural settings where it doesn't cause other problems (wind, view etc). I think it looks nice and makes one side of the interior nice and tall either for inside storage or for aesthetics. I'm also a HUGE fan of outbuildings without eavestroughing. Set up your ground cover with river rock or similar for 3' around the building.

Where ya building this thing? And is it for kids, adults, or what? Actually helped design a bunkie for a relative last year. They are simple but lots of small choices to make.

There will be rules where I build it.

No larger than 80 sq feet. Top of roof can not be more than 10 feet high.

Design can be whatever really as long as it is not trashy.

This bunk house will pretty much be used for kids when they come stay with us. Interior will have queen bunk beds inside, fully finished.

It will most likely have on 1 wall an outdoor fridge built in for beverages, yet it has to be covered so the fridge doesn’t actually show. The front door also has to be large enough ( or 2 doors ) to fit a golf cart for parking over winter. With that being said the beds will have to fold onto the wall.

Bunkhouse is a small shed basically where people could sleep.

So it is a bunkhouse that could be a doghouse?

is that 80 square feet the interior size or size of the "footprint" / roof? I'm totally onboard with bunkhouses being awesome, and kids actually like them too.

This will be used at the lake when the RV is full and we need extra space for family / friends.

The rules are slightly vague so I’m going to use the 80 sq feet for interior space ( fk the old people )

How tall is your golf cart, does the roof come off for winter storage? I'm thinking it's easier to lift the queen beds to the ceiling instead of some kind of folding mechanism. I've never seen a folding Murphy bunk bed.
EDIT: apparently murphy bunk beds are totally a thing, the internet tells me so.

Standard golf cart, I would rather not remove roof.

Queens will stay all summer while golf cart stays outside. If it takes an hour to move beds around 2 times a year to put golf cart inside it wouldn’t really bother me.

I have a couple extra bundles of shingles if you’re interested. The are grey black.

I’d go with a small shipping container, clad it with some sort of modern looking wood finish, put in a few windows and glass slider. Leave the original doors functional to roll in the golf cart
