If the exchange rate is a key component of your gambling budget, then I think you are focusing on the wrong thing.

Calforex almost always beats the banks. That's good enough for me.
Lol I'd like to lose as little as possible hahaa

Ya you are putting way too much effort into deciding who you give away your money to

Who can be bothered to carry cash.

If it s a couple thousand, the difference is negligible. If it's more then 9999, you can't fly without extra paperwork.
So, maybe, just maybe, there's a situation where it makes it worthwhile.

How much different do you think the rate will be?

I have 0 clue, maybe a cent if I'm lucky. When 3000 cost more than 4000, the cheapness in me got me looking into saving a bit where I can. Losing money is expensive..

Basically the bank is charging 1.37 so I want to look for whoever will be lower than that

Was just in Vegas last week, I don't know if there's specific places to exchange at a favored rate, but the ATM last week at the MGM soaked me for $10 USD in fees, and a couple points off the top. $200 USD cost 309.50 CDN.

Exchange here for sure. ATMs are a killer… $10 usd fee, plus they add 10-15 points to the rate. I went back in early October and spot rate was around 1.38. I ended up paying 1.52 which is pretty much highway robbery.

Cash cage might be a bit better but definitely not as good as calforex or canexforex in town.

I mean if you want to do large volumes of FX transactions USD to CAD and vice versa feel free to use Norbert’s gambit if you have a trading account.

Dunno if that arb has been monetized yet.

Bumping this. Going to Vegas in May, did you ever try this @16hypen3sp ? I'll probably just go to calforex but im interested to hear if there's another way.
I remember I asked the cage and they said they had no problems with it but I didn't go into particulars as I didn't need the exchange so I left. I don't think we will beat calforex/canforex tho. Seems like they are the sure way to do it.

I looked online and there are places that MIGHT save you up to $50 on $5000 CAD, but I didn't read the fine print and I assume they courier the money to you, so maybe they charge for that as well.

Calforex has an online service too, but I am pretty sure in in-store rates are better. They will do better than in-store posted rates of you have larger amounts, always worth asking, coukd save you enough for one more slot machine spin.

The only real trick here is never exchange back and forth. That’s how you really waste money.
