I'll drink PBR, but it doesn't impress me any more than River Valley, PC beers, AGD etc. Had my eye on PC pilsner today, but it was more expensive than Pilsner Pilsner, so I got that.
Has anyone been filling growlers? I recently bought one and i'm finding places that want close to 20$ for 64 oz fill. That's just an expensive 6 pack!
Liquor Depots in Edmonton had some great selection for these but I see far fewer options in Calgary. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Hard Knox Brewery in Black Diamond does cheap fills and they have some excellent stuff. Grizzly Paw in Canmore is a good deal, too.
Lots of local breweries offer a cheap growler fill day, typically $10-$12This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Only a couple of bigger Liquor Depots in town have good growler selection - Mount Royal, Brentwood, Signal Hill and Altadore I think. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Sounds like growlers don't qualify as "cheap" if it's $12 or more for what equals about five cans.
yeah growers certainly are not "cheap beer".
(i get my growler fills at Brewster $10 on friday and saturday, usually use those for foo-foo beers like raspberry or peach)

As some mentioned already, Costco's regular price is cheaper than many places on sale. Why not just swing by when you're around the South? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Last few trips to Costco I've been picking up the Miller high life 24 pack for $27.xx if I recall correctly.
Well can't beat free. Got gifted some jasper brewing cans last night. Will investigate on my camping trip.
Won a growler raffle.. but bought $10 of tickets. so guess i got a non-cheap growler for the weekend
Am i the only lucky guy here?
I'll drink lucky, but I won't buy it.
Although I'll drink any thing in a pinch, and have.
Same here: Lucky, AGD, etc are as low as I go, all these pissy lagers are similar. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Not really a review, but I've been camping for 11 nights so far, and my stock has consisted of this:
Pilsner
AGD light
Coop pilsner
River valley red
River valley golden
Jasper Trail session ISA
I'm officially sick of pilsner. The coop pilsner and the river valley red are my two favourites still, and the Jasper trail session ISA is good if I want to cleanse my palette.
Overall, I still think my strategy of having multiple cheap beers is a good one. Nobody needs eighteen of one of these, but three of each seems totally reasonable.
Still holding to my previous statements, even in a new location.
River valley red is hot garbage.
PC beers 12 pack for $10.98
AGD 24 pack for $23.98
at superstore until Sunday
Extraslow is probably sipping Kokanee's out of a champagne flute now that he has a job.
Goes good with double-meat lobster subs.
