    Seems like it.

The Episode 9 trailer was revealed at Star Wars Celebration on Friday, and when the lights came back the audience was stunned to see actor Ian McDiarmid standing on stage. McDiarmid played the evil Palpatine in the original trilogy and the prequels, but hasn't been seen since -- Palpatine was long dead by the time of The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. Or so it seemed...

Officially, the 9 movies over the last 40 years is the Skywalker Saga and it's supposed to end with this one.

Then they have to come up with a new Star Wars saga.

No way Disney won't continue to milk the IP. But they are falling back to Disney+ and theme park for a bit of hiatus before they figure what to do on the movie front next.

Closed captioning on the official youtube confirmed it to be Palpatine.

    "Emperor"

This movie needs one hell of a twist to make up for the last one...

The Last Jedi was so bad, they could be building sandcastles for 20 minutes and it would make up for the last one.

Am I the only one who really enjoyed Solo and Im disappointed they wont be doing a sequel? Solo and Rogue One were great. Eps 7 and 8 were atrocious. WIll still see 9 because I cant resist.

Solo was great! I could do without Rogue One. I'm excited to see Ep. 9 whether it's amazerballs or not. All this hype about the sub par Avengers series, but no love for the Star Wars franchise. Weird.

I liked Solo, Rogue One, and Episode 7. Episode 8 was so bad for me, I couldn't even bring myself to watch it again for free on Netflix. But I did hear if you fast forward all the parts related to the casino world, it's a lot more bearable haha

Yea 8 had too many cringeworthy scenes to be good.

Out of the Disney Star Wars movies, I only truely loved Rogue One. Everything else is passable. Not sure if Solo would be better left in the hands of original directors. I don't like 8 at first but like the movie's theme, if you let the past go, you may enjoy it more.

Well at least it gives me confidence that the current producers watched a bit of the original trilogy if only to pull some clips in for the trailer

This might end up being better than the movie itself.

    @flipstah @taemo , where can I get a copy of the bootleg they're watching?

Damn. That's actually a heart warming commercial lol.

Just weird it's in Filipino for some reason (my native language haha).

    I assume it's a Filipino cinema chain.

Even if they are promoting pirating, the onions tho.
