The Leap Manifesto basically alienated all the working union members of the party. They tried to make a shift to urban champagne socialists and white collar unions and it turn out three not a whole lot of support or grassroots funding pushes to be had. Also telling that the party’s desired shift to that demographic still left them effectively shut out of most cities.

The sooner they can distance themselves from people like Klein to draft major policy decisions the better. Not much more alienating to the working class than millionaire socialists.

At least those of them bright enough can look at it now in all its glory and realize that's all socialism is - a bunch of rich people exploiting the working class.

Trudeau vows to forge ahead with Trans Mountain pipeline, has no plans for coalition
The remarks came in his first public comments since election night when voters handed the Liberals a minority mandate

I don't believe a word he says but if he actually just simply does those things wouldn't that be nice. Part of electoral reform should include punting the fucking Bloc. How a party that only cares about one Province, period, can have a seat at the Federal table is beyond disgusting. Fuck Quebec.

"He also vowed to find a way to ensure that Alberta and Saskatchewan have a voice in cabinet after the Liberals didn’t earn a seat in either province."

i wonder how? Maybe he could extend an olive branch and appoint someone from the cons for a cabinet position? Is there precedent for that? i know he appointed Ambrose on the NAFTA renegotiation panel so it doesn't seem TOO far-fetched.

Kent Hehr was on the resource and environment committee from Alberta but didn't retain his seat. I wonder if they'd appoint a conservative to that position. At the end of the day the position is mostly just an adviser role anyways

Given how his promise of electoral reform panned out, I wouldn't hold my breath

There is no actual reason why a member of cabinet has to be an MP.

"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to JRSC00LUDE again."

It's the lie of socialism - that it eliminates the "capitalism elite". In reality it just concentrates the Elite to a smaller number of even more powerful people. Castro in Cuba, for instance.

He also said his government intends to forge ahead with the controversial Trans Mountain pipeline project, saying that it is in the national interest — even if it is opposed by New Democrat and Green MPs, whose support he is going to need to implement the government’s agenda.
He can't say shit like that publicly and not follow through...right?

If we have learned anything. Trudeau can do literally whatever he wants and not only will nothing happen to him, but Canadians will still vote for him in droves lmao.

Yup. In this case probably a Liberal senator would be chosen.

Trudeau took a giant dump on the independence of the judicial branch of the government - an attack on one of the most fundamental aspects of a functioning democracy. It was beyond just garden variety bad policy.

    He's willing to do that.

But he can't seem to get an approved pipeline built? That's just passive aggressive nonsense. If he was motivated to the level of the destruction of democracy on a pipeline, I'm pretty sure it would be shovels in the ground TOMORROW. No exaggeration. If it's not, then he doesn't want it built at all.

It's confusing for Canadians because we smoosh the Executive Branch together with the Legislative Branch, and I suppose to a degree we also smoosh the Executive Branch together with the Judicial Branch (kinda). Although Trudeau doesn't really want separate branches of government at all.

Um... He hasnt repealed c49 - tanker ban on the coast so...

We get a pipeline to a point we're not allowed to ship it out from...

So hes playing both sides fully - appeasing alberta with the pipeline. And bc with not allowing more tanker traffic.

So all hes done is ensure oil flows to bc.

    It's bill C69.

It bans oil tankers from the northern BC coast. Because Libs are stupid that way.

The current KM pipeline already fills tankers near Vancouver. And has for decades, and no one noticed until recently, although I'm not sure the greeny morons actually realize this happens.

Perhaps you should look at a map? The bill is C-48 and only covers the northern coast. TMX goes to Vancouver.
