Kitimat clean was to be a 400,000 barrels per day raw bitumen to refined fuel project. That doesn't sound like LNG....This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Just looked into and looks like it’s a refinery project. So again, no oil tankers. It would export refined product not crudeThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

The tanker ban doesnt differentiate between crude versus refined...This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It actually does. Crude oil and persistent oil products over 12,500 metric tons is banned, and most refined products aren't in that category. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Remember Andy, they don't want to kill all industries. Only ours.
Silly me believing ottawa citizen article said tankers over 12500.
Wonder how many trains need to fall into the watershed delivering crude by rail before that changes...
In whose watershed? Take any Quebec village - incinerate it with a rail disaster and they'll elect another pipeline denier. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Trains are le safe!
Ne pas du pipelines!
Vive le rail!!

A First Nations’ led $17-billion project to build an oil pipeline from Alberta to the West Coast has put in motion a back-up plan to site its terminal across the border in Alaska to get around an imminent oil tanker ban in British Columbia’s northern coast.

Big cities in the East must put some sort of Liberal Kool-Aid in their tap water.
That's the case everywhere. It's like that in the US with the dems. It's what happens when you group educated and wealthy (relatively) people together. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

So why is it different in Calgary? I thought this was one of the more educated City's in the Country and relatively wealthy? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Generally speaking, Calgary has a small city mentality, opposed to change, and inability to adapt. Working with local companies over the last decades, it's hilarious to see how tough it is to enact change in corporate culture across Calgary organizations. O&G clearly are the worst at it, I remember my early years sales people trying to sell the concept of time tracking software, and they'd prefer to not change and rely on a team of 10 people managing paper timesheets. We try to hire software developers coming from O&G backgrounds and they have this complacent attitude that just doesn't fit our culture. When the money is easy, it's tempting to not rock the boat, and keep the gravy train pouring. It promotes laziness, and trickles down to everything else. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'm going to guess this applies to Alberta not just Calgary.
