The Island was DEFINITELY commie for decades, but its now - SLOWLY changing to a more pro-business model. The 80s and 90s were sad times on the island with business stagnation and negative growth. People despised change there.
Meh, it's still very much a far left, ultra liberal, hippie land. I did 8 years out there. That was more than enough.

Like the Lower Mainland, people on the Island are bought into the belief the housing market is all they need to worry about. Screw resource development. It won't end well. I took my profits and ran.

The flip side, of course, is that I miss the mild weather and the stunning beauty of it all... but I can visit, I don't need to live there.

Polls have been showing Conservative Party flirting with majority. Here's last update from June 18.

The next couple of weeks might be a good proxy opinion poll on the TMX announcement.

I hope whoever wins, wins with majority or we may end up Green holding balance of power. May is aiming for that.

seems more likely that the BQ or NDP would be in that position as both are projected around 20 seats right now compared to 5 for the greens. I think the Conservatives would align best with BQ.

I still find it fascinating that a Federal party exists, where you can only vote if you live in one province. If the BQ was not around, where would those votes go? Cons, Libs?

So I’ve received a second text message from ‘Sarah’ asking me if the Conservatives have my support in the Federal Erection. Bitch won’t even tell me what’s she’s wearing right now, how am I supposed to answer her? Lol

Is the Scheer thing a lot like the Kenney thing? How come you don't like Scheer? "Rabble rabble, people say stuff........... you know what I mean"

Scheer doesn’t stand for anything and his stated policies, where he even bothers stating them, make him Trudeau light but wearing a blue suit.

He could run for the Liberals and no one would know the difference.

He would likely be better for Alberta, but not in some substantial way to actually make a difference.

Giant Douche vs Shit Sandwich 2.0 - the real loser is Canada

I have next to no faith in the future of our federal government. I would actually prefer a majority BQ at this point if that was possible.

Except I’m sure the Liberals will somehow spin it as scheer winning was tanatamount to electing the Nazis lol.

Putting a guy with a complete lack of charisma, up against a guy who's only appeal is the charisma factor, was a terrible idea from the cons. He's Harper with chubbier cheeks.
Watching Lisa Raitt in the SNC Interviews made me really notice how much they missed the mark on their leader.

The big question for me is how much of Ford's actions provincially in Ontario would hurt the federal PCs? My perception is that Ford's honeymoon period is over, and sentiment in ON is anti-Ford now because of all the cuts he's making.

Will people associate his actions with the Federal Conservatives and sway Ontario against voting blue?

I'd have a much easier time voting for that female who humiliated Tru-D'oh in parliament regarding the SNC scandal. Rempel is her name, I think? She's from Calgary, too. Love it when a Westerner finally gets in.

I wish Michelle Rempel or Candace Bergen were leading the PCs. Bergen had to recently apologize for calling Trudeau a coward, in House of Commons, I think. Both have way more charisma than Scheer.

    Sigh.
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."
