I don't think Rempel is a good option, she's too polarizing and from the west. Poillevre is smart, but boring as hell. Lisa Rait was very impressive during the SNC stuffThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

‘Appalling’: John McCallum pitches China on helping re-elect Trudeau Liberals

Polling hasn't shown any big swings. What's weird is that the range of possible seat counts is wider for the Liberals (112 seats) vs Conservatives (83). Does that mean anything?

I'm pretty sure its going to be a Minority government situation with the Green party holding the balance of power.
Going to be a really interesting time to work in O&G in this country.
Just got back from Ontario, looks like Ford is not doing conservatives any favors right now in that province. I have also heard some Sheer missteps in the last couple weeks while I wasn't paying much attention on news. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Liberal had a 7 point gain in July so far in ON, so seat projection probably tip in Lib's favor. But I think a lot of blue seats are solid blues (Piraries) and there isn't vote split of that side of the house so swing is less.
It's summer, who knows, Sep/Oct will be the real battleground. But prediction right now is minority government, regardless who wins. Which make GRN easily aim for a repeat of BC election on the Fed stage.

I could actually see a Liberal minority with NDP holding the balance of power similar to the NDP/Green situation in BC. That would be really bad... worse than a Liberal majority.
Lib/NDP is probably better than Lib/Green. Nothing is worse than NDP/Green like BC got. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Greens would have to make up some massive ground to be holding any sort of balance of power in their hands. NDP possibly, not the greens though. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Prediction:
Scheer gets minority govt, and then gets tossed out in party leader vote.
With the Trudeau debacle never ending and the clown car show going on, if the Cons dont get a majority - he wont last long and his deficiencies will be brought out internally with others looking to move in.
Hes not appearing to be doing the right things in the eyes of many Canadians who already loath and despise the sock puppet in power.
The polling has turned awful, with Liberals now predicted to form government. I hope the renewal of the snc lavalin headlines will help fix this.
Also, fuck Trudeau.

This is the Andrew Scheer problem: You have the Prime Minister exactly where you want them, surrounded by scandal heading into an election and you've got a motivated party base. You have a dream situation for a Conservative leader going up against a Liberal majority. So what do you do with this moral high ground and strategic advantage? You try to have a gotcha moment at a parade where everybody is trying to have a good time and manage to come out looking like a dope who just got rejected by a girl you asked out and you realize your mom isn't picking you up for another hour.
Scheer already was fighting against his paralyzing lack of charisma, but now gets to look weak and awkward, too. Why did they post this?
I think it just reinforces quite how comfortable Liberals are with corruption. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

The Cons never expected Trudeau to be so idiotic. They thought they had no chance with him as PM.
The problem that I have heard is that Scheer has refused to step down as leader multiple times.
I always thought Bernier should have just sucked it up and stayed in the Party, then do a Paul Martin and just take the party over from within. Now the next in line would be Rait, Rempel, or Poilevrie. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

You know, there's a debate about they amount and type of immigration that's beneficial, but I don't think it's a smart discussion to have during an election campaign in Canada.
