I don't think NDP will accept her as one of theirs now after the 4 years as premier of AB.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Cons doesn't really have anyone on the bench with Raitt and Ambrose out. Rempel and Poilievre are too green at this point.

Scheer very likely to be gone after next party convention in my opinion. He won’t step down voluntarily.

I wasn't following the greens super closely but i thought this election was considered a victory for them? I mean they didn't actually think they would get official opposition for the entire country. Seems like an unrealistic goal if that was the case. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It's not really her resigning because of a perceived loss. She is getting pretty old now, especially when compared to other party leaders. She could certainly not sustain another campaign. It's likely a good decision to give someone time to get into the role before a campaign. She has been the face of the greens for some time in Canada so it will take a while. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Scheer won't step down, it's unfortunate because it will be ugly if he is pushed out.
Singh isn't going anywhere. He will get another kick at it and may likely be opposition after the next election.
She's 65 and sort of let the bag out that she is not running again. Immediately, the Quebec Green demand a new leader and pushed her to resign. Now a Green party with leader in Quebec? That's something you have to watch out for. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'm surprised last week's "wait and see" turn into resignation today. Politics is cold. I don't blame McKay doesn't want to come back to it especially with his hot Iranian-Canadian wife.
I doubt he will be in opposition anytime soon even if Conservatives are split again back to PC and Reform. Or in 2019 term, Conservative and Wexit. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

The NDP lost a ton of seats and will never have any traction in racist Quebec with a coloured person as leader. And he didn't even do all that well in his own riding.
The Greens were expected to do way better, but that was scuttled.
65 is hardly old in politics.

Next election goes one of two ways, either the Liberals gain a majority again, or they get pushed to third party, with the NDP taking the role of official opposition (maybe the Bloc if they are still supported with the same numbers), much the same as before. It will all depend on how flagrant Trudeau goes about things this time, if he tries to run it like last term I greatly suspect that will happen. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Unfortunately for the NDP what that man said in the market to Singh is likely what will hold them back in Quebec with him as the leader. Is that enough for the Quebec NDP party members to lead a push for him to the exit? Not sure who is there to take the lead in place of him.

ROFL the federal NDP will never be majority gov't.
Edited to clarify, NDP in official opposition, with the Conservative party in power. They are not likely to ever be elected to govern the Country. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Basic pretense is that the Liberals will either win a majority in the next election, or be third party. They will not form opposition.
There was talk after the election that May was stepping down on a high note (seats, lots of air time, debates, etc...) to spend time with her family, so it's not unexpected.
I wouldn't bet on any other voluntary resignations though.
I can eat more hot wings than you.
Remember, Bloc has better chance to be opposition than NDP will. Only way NDP will get opposition is somehow Conservatives breaks up back to Red and Blue Tories and thin down the right votes. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
As much as this sounds racist, with Layton, there may be a chance as opposition, not with Singh. And yes, it's the turban.
Don't worry, it doesn't make Quebecers out to be as racist as they actually are.
The federal NDP will never be the official opposition either. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
