The Liberal assault on our democracy continues. After the Liberals refused Lawton entry to the press bus, refused him entry to campaign events, then abused the power of police to remove him from a public rally, they've now disallowed him from covering the only public debate.

The think I hate about Scheer is that he reminds me of the guy who wears a Edmonton oilers jersey under a Flames jersey. I mean, he could have renounced his US citizenship at any point in time and pledged his undying allegiance to Canada.

Every news outlet is partisan. It's a great marketing ploy by the media to try and insulate they only offer objective, bias-free reporting, but it's not true. Every reporter has a worldview, and that reflects in how they report. And every outlet selectively chooses how and what they report on based on their own worldview.

And True North is no more fake news, than an outlet like the Toronto Star. Difference is, True North hasn't broken the fundamental ethics of Journalism, in taking favors from the people they primarly report on. They're also honest about their bias.

Take a look at many of the twitter feeds from all of the journalists covering the debate, and then tell me they are only offering non-partisan journalism.

That’s cool, except it alienates a chunk of the middle ground. Debt is nothing to the centrists or lefts. Personal beliefs absolutely impact voters choice..
I don't disagree. As much as I wish the Conservatives would get with the times and try to win the election, I also wish the average voter wasn't such an uneducated shill who would worry more about the overall well being of the nation instead of somebodies private opinions.

You pointing out of how the average idiot doesn't care about debt, reminded me how nonsensical I feel the Conservatives marketing has been. It's all the same. "We will decrease foreign aid" "We will secure borders" "We will balance the budget". Like who are they trying to convince to vote for them? Just conservative voters that were going to vote for them regardless. Centrists voting Liberal are the votes they need to swing to secure a majority, but they don't seem to be making any attempt to swing those voters. The only hope is that these swing voters are fed up enough with the Liberal corruption that they swing their vote on their own accord.

Non partisan mainstream journalism (or its vestiges at least)all got bought out by Trudeau, even with your usual blinders on you can see that one I'm sure.

At least the Conservatives have the integrity to pull the candidate, unlike the Liberals (no surprise there):

Christ the conservatives really are just handing the election with selection of scheer. Insurance broker, American citizen, pro-life... like come on guys you couldn’t even get him to say he’s pro choice? No conservative is going to vote Liberal if he says he’s pro choice...
And a lot of Conservatives will vote something other than Liberal or Conservative if he says he's pro-choice. But if he isn't pro-choice, then good on him for having the integrity to not say he is just to win some votes. That would be a leftist tactic.

Of course they all "lie" in some way, usually on election promises that don't get fulfilled, for one reason or other, but personal integrity is the issue here.

Y'know it might be worthwhile to write a stipulation into our laws that anyone from the USA that has any hint of Canadian heritage, must pay $1 million to leave Canada. Or certain jobs will be unavailable as a US citizen in the USA, under pain of sending our Canadian tank to run them over.

Lol. Americuh can suck my yellow balls and its NASA Chinese exclusion policy. Hell, it puts $1,000 speeding tickets to shame as a revenue source. Its like the USA got the nuke and then they invented nuke logic in their "you owe me money punk" tax structure.

It does pain me that I might have to tell my nephew: "No you cannot be an astronaut with NASA, because they are purebred USA dickwads who don't hire yellow skinned people, and pretend to hire black people. But you can actually go to the moon for reals in a few decades if you want to join up with China Space agency". This is literally one of the conversations that I dread (much more than "PornHub is ok, but try to get a girlfriend first." conversation)

Just throwing some thoughts out there, go ahead and quote me - I'm too old to care. God am I glad I never studied to be an astronaut, it was a path not taken for obvious reasons. POS Buzz Aldrin complaining that he wasn't paid enough, Greta will be parachuting into your backyard soon enough when you are rummaging through the neighbors trash because Buzz can't afford to leave the USA.

Well, are you gonna call it a part of Europe then? Hawaii is a toss up, if Japan had been successful in bombing it, I would say that Hawaii is Japan.

The issue is the conservative party electing someone who is boringly unappealing to try and battle a charismatic guy... They couldnt have found a more white bread guy..

Maybe they knew that virtually all PM's win a second term, so they lobbed this softball over the plate knowing that they have an ace-in-the-whole for 2023.
    Maybe!

The liberals have done literally everything they could to lose this one, SNC, Blackface, India, etc... conservatives really dropped this opportunity on it's head. We'll see how the debate goes tonight
