Trudeau's answer to the Vancouverites, who will be paying 2$/L this year for gas is - 'exactly what we want'.

I hear thats a great way to attract voters.

If they are fighting NDP and potentially Green on the rise, that is the right answer. They are guaranteed to lose 1 riding there this Oct, has to make it up elsewhere.

    BC is a green/commie province.

Everyone loves fighting climate change until they have to pay for it (vancouver gas prices)

On another note, i keep noticing media has so much increased coverage of Green party and Elizabeth May. They have 2 fucking seats, nobody gives a shit what they think. Why are they getting any coverage at all? May needs to go back to screaming at the clouds.

Here we are talking about climate change/carbon tax and yet the Natural Environment is polluting the entire western half of the continent every summer with vast amounts of soot, chemicals and CO2.

What needs to happen is the government to incentivize (more) technological developments to move away from fossil fuels and into things like advanced nuclear power.

Politicians need to make tough decisions, which they are unwilling to do because of election chances - if they were term limited then perhaps more could have been done.

LENR is also an emerging technology that will come of age in a decade or so.

No, the Lower Mainland & the Island are the green/commie regions. The rest of BC, in general, votes conservative and view those two regions with disdain. That province is very much an urban/rural split politically.

The Island was DEFINITELY commie for decades, but its now - SLOWLY changing to a more pro-business model. The 80s and 90s were sad times on the island with business stagnation and negative growth. People despised change there.

If you are talking about northern fires, I won't be surprised it was either sparked by ATV or cig buttes again.

That's what I thought too but 3 ridings in the interior went to NDP/Liberals in 2015. It's not all blue.

Not liking this trend at all. Conservative Party is down, and nearly total overlap with the Liberals now.

    This, 100% !

I'm sick of hearing about solar panels, batteries, electric cars, etc... Batteries require hardcore mining, the footprint behind manufacturing solar panels is retarded for such little energy generated, and everyone makes it sound like Alberta (or Canada's oil and gas sector) is destroying the planet.

If they were serious about climate change, the focus wouldn't be on fossil fuels, it would be on lighting up REAL proven technology like nuclear... But I guess environmentalists protest those as well. It's the only semi-clean proven tech we have right now. Get the cities running off nuclear first, invest in new tech, incentivize it, and deal with the other stuff later as new technologies come out.

But then again, the whole Canadian "climate change fight" isn't about climate change... It's about votes, uncontrollable spending and new taxes, uneducated people following fads, and foreign entities interfering with our energy industry.

    Green-NDP-Liberal Alliance?

Why not... we are enjoying the hijack SOOOO much here in BC. Might as well let the rest of Canada enjoy the losers squad gang up.

Interestingly.... the federal Green party is now on the side of Alberta, well... sort of. It is just weird to hear her voicing support for Alberta Oil.

Anything but a majority conservative will be a disaster for Alberta.

The libs won't relinquish power if the conservatives have a minority. They will team up for sure.
