Anyone got the Shaw BlueCurve Wifi system?

Looks like it can replace your own router/mesh wifi setup. Wonder what kind of visibility it gives to Shaw?

I use UniFi at home so I can't say anything about these...but from what I've heard it's based off the XB6 system. Whether that's a pro or a con, I'll leave that up to you.
Its a $10/month rental. No option to buy. Seems like you can buy them from Comcast though... Not sure if it'll work on Shaw's network. There's no ethernet backhaul support either. It's on the road map... So when ever Comcast launches it, it'll be about 6 months to a year before Shaw gets it. I don't think it does any thing more than what other mesh networks provide. Doesn't seem worth it
Two Asus routers and aimesh still better.

Have it... Don't have any pods, even through concrete walls it gets to the back bedrooms. An improvement over the version we had before.
I considered this as an option but according to SNBforums, aimesh should be referred to as aimessThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
how are you finding it?
Shaw and Telus just keep finding more ways to get more money from the suckers. Let us give you shit wifi and then rent something else from us to help.
Bump.
I have bluecurve internet with the wireless tv pods. The Wifi sucks out of the xb6 so I bought a router. But Shaw doesn't support using a router with bluecurve pods. I do have cat6 to both tv pods though.
Should this work? xb6 in bridge to my router which has the tv pods hardwired in?
Fucking Shaw..
Have BlueCurve in bridged mode. Edgerouter 8 and Nano HD access points.
No way would I use the ISP's provided router/wifi
I have my xb6 in bridge and my wireless boxes linked wirelessly to my own router (ie. bypassing the xb6). If you go into bridge and then reset your boxes it will pop up a prompt asking you to select a wifi network and you can select your own routerThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Yea the setup was easy. Why the fuck does shaw not support it?
Fuck I need to do this. Their router is so shitty and I have ubiquiti AP’s that would be so much better
While it's not very clear and not sure if people are aware but you can put your Bluecurve modem into bridge mode yourself.
That's exactly how I have my setup, XB6 bridged to Edgerouter Lite, TV pods are hardwired to the Edgerouter. A2VR6 is also correct, the pods will allow you to select a wifi network if you want to go that way. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The tech not only told me that the XB6 couldn't be bridged, also told me that the ethernet ports on the TV pods were disabled.
XB6 can be bridged as I have done this myself. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Make sure the XB6 is fresh out of the box or perhaps some how factory refresh and it'll act as a wifi router and you log into it and change the flag for bridged mode.
