In order to open our deadbolt now you have to pull on the door handle to align the door properly and then the pressure will come off of the deadbolt and you can turn the key to open it. I'm guessing this is so the door presses tightly against the weather stripping to keep the cold air out but we're considering moving to an electronic deadbolt and I'm worried I won't be able to remotely operate it if it doesn't quite line up with the deadbolt hole without pulling on it.
What's the solution for this? If I realign the door, will it let cold air in?
