    Default School me on mattresses

    Hey Beyond,

I am looking to buy a new mattress fairly soon. There are so many different kinds out there these days. What's the latest and greatest in mattress technology? Where/how to get the best deal on one? I've been hearing there is a huge mark up on mattresses and prices can be negotiated up to 40-50% off.

We did the douglasbed king sized, wouldn't look back. Insane to buy a mattress at a store now-a-days

We just went through I think 5 bed in a box mattresses In a year... ended up sticking with the Logan and cove and love it. It's a hybrid mattress which means springs and foam.

I would never buy a mattress from a box store again, we have a brand new (only used 2 months) mattress from sleep country. Back problems the entire time we used it.

Try out the endy and Casper. It's a no brainer with the 100 night guarantee and the refund process is extremely easy.

Good luck! One If the hardest purchases you'll ever make!!

I'm in the same boat and its hard to know which to get without trying them out first but I'm leaning towards this one from Costco

Where's a good place to buy a decent quality affordable bed frame? Upgrading from a queen to a king so need new frame. Last one was from IKEA but lasted 6-7 years and then the welds broke.

I just ordered this guy from Amazon. Its $30 cheaper now than when I ordered it couple weeks ago ($271)
Used in a AirBnB, have received a few comments on how comfortable it is.

break through the "consumer mindset' barrier on mattresses, and get an actual latex mattress. It's like anything - you think you've used a nice knife, until you've gotten a pro chef's knife. You think you've used a blender, until you've used a vitamix, etc. You think regular suits are fine until you've got a "real" suit.

I bought a latex mattress from Black Sheep here in town last year, and wouldn't look back.

Don't make yourself sleep on some lowest priced, compressed foam bullshit-in-a-box mattress.

Damn. $5,480.00 CAD price tag. Beyond Baller Status for sure for a mattress. You must sleep hella good and wake up with a smile all the time. Us peasants wake up with back pain and grumpy

If you don't have $6g to buy a latex one, and don't like foam ones (I hate them), Ikea makes great spring matress for $500.

I only sleep about 4 hours a night, so either i need a good one or I'm getting bad value - not sure which.

Still, I'm not surew why a mattress is a place where people search for value. People budget way too low for them.

    lol @ $5,500 mattress.

Bought a $1,000 Endy and love it. And I've got a low back herniation. Sleep like a fucking baby.

    I'll invest the $4,500 difference

Because the matress industry is a complete scam.

No reason to sleep on a shitty mattress, though.

My wife talked me into this. Though sometimes I feel like I should have a drip IV and a diaper on. It is pretty kick ass.

The higher end Simmons Beauty Rest cannot be beat, iMO. Mines over a decade old and still every night I lie down and think "wow, this is awesome".
Biggest downside is no longer noticing how great fancy hotel beds feel because the one at home is better.

To each their own. Personally I love the feel of a soft fancy hotel bed, but after a few days they give me backaches. I enjoy them on vacation but couldn't sleep in one full time.
