Try SENDING using a different domain (eg if using Yahoo, try gmail).
Well, I don't have access to anything that isn't some kind of google email. My work email is run by Google and my personal is Gmail. Both have same bounce. Weird. I'll get one of our aqaintences to test this from a corporate email.

Well, just to follow up, I tracked the guy down, and he's definitely left that company.
Seems like a really weird way of shutting down someones email account, especially for a multi-billion dollar global organization, but hey, maybe there's a reason.

In our company they deactivate incoming email and put an automatic reply indicating the person is gone and who to contact, leave that on for a couple weeks and then do a full archive.
