Default 2020 Toyota Supra Test Numbers

    https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a2...-test-numbers/

Not at all did I expect this.

    3.8, 12.3@113, 1.07G.

    ON PILOT SUPER SPORTS.

With some cup 2s, and more light weighing, what’s the limit of this thing?

Now, for 65k base price, that’s decent. Looks like this thing is closer to 400hp
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."

Ya I'm pretty impressed with this car. Of course, the engine represents a reliability issue in the future... but that's the second owner's problem

Yea that Valvetronic and VANOS system will prove quite un-toyota Supra like.

I'm not a purist. I just don't think the BMW-sourced engine will be as nearly as reliable or legendary as the 2JZ.

Like all the german car's I've had, sell it after the warranty is up.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

I was surprised by some reviews too, DudeinBlue had one for a bit on his YT channel recently, and had more positives than negatives to say, this after really bashing the car as a 2Jz purest for the last couple of years. It's a shame that reliability will be non-Toyota-ish, for sure.

the new Supra is more like a bag of floppy dicks than a Supra.

    Bring back old Supra.

The reliability issue didn't seem to hurt the new GT-R too bad. People still love that heap.

This thing seems like a performance bargain. My guess is people who buy these new will have 0 concerns about reliability. I doubt many would buy a car like this and plan to keep it past 5-6 years?

And hardcore modders will start buying this thing used at 5+ years of age when warranty is gone and reliability is less of a concern.

I think part of what made the original Supra legendary was seeing all of the daily-driven 600+ hp builds people were able to create. There are lots of fast/high-HP cars out there. But why do people rave about Porsches? Because you can daily-drive that thing and know it'll get you to/from wherever you're going.

Anyway, maybe I'm wrong about it. I hope this thing sells. I'd love to pick one up in a few years.

    Wow ..

Super impressive test result, Cayman S/GTS number!

The new Supra does look nice in person (the one from Car show is hot!)

~$70-75K is somewhat bargain, compare to $90K+ Z4 and $100K Cayman S, but they sold out now anyway according to what Toyota dealers told me..

But no rear seat? No No then ....
    The Original !

    Throwing my flame suit on.

The Supra does absolutely nothing for me. The BMW components are the best part of the car in my opinion.

    Would buy a M240i for $51k instead.

Remember how expensive the 370Z was when it first came out and it had pretty decent performance for its time?

Maybe Toyota will do the same thing. Just wait 7 years for the cheap "enthusiast" edition
