    Default Telus static ip address on business

    Hi,

    How on earth does one register, assign, retrieve the static ip address on Telus business internet?

    I Use to be able to use the Online customer registration portal, set IP address, MAC, and reverse DNS hostname as far back as the late 90s


    Today:
    Sign up rep said on the online customer center - no luck
    called into Telus "business support" somewhere overseas, spent 3 hours , said he cant see the MAC address of the device connected to the Modem (ONT)
    I gave him the reverse DNS/PTR of the domain name/FQDM he says its too long. It was just computerxxxx.dept.domain.com


    Too be honest it seems to be a fulltime job to get Telus Business internet and it working.

    It really depends on how your business is setup with Telus. I know some small businesses I called and asked and they were able to assign a new (second) static WAN IP right over the phone.

    However, a different client (with an assigned rep) and having something like 5 existing static IP's- it takes something like 2-3 weeks for them to 'find' and assign unrelated static IPs.
