The tablet wars are heating up. Walmart using the same chip that is inside the Fire 8 but bundling it with Android 9.

Android obviously going for market dominance.

I got a super cheap 8" model of Amazon just to play YT music on our home Bluetooth setup. It struggles with that even.

For use for anything else, dont bother with the low end units.

I dunno. I'm playing Pokémon Go on a Fire 8 HD, and while its not the smoothest - and only works by Wifi location services (will not work in large parks because no GPS). It still works.

Prime video runs just fine, downloaded playback of 25 movies is really nice for long trips in the middle of nowhere. 1970's titty movies ftw.

Other then surfing the internet and using them as a remote or for YouTube, tablets this weak are pretty useless. Good if you want something disposable to give a kid or grandparent, though.

With the 2017 iPad regularly dipping into the $300's though, it's hard to justify going cheaper if you're looking for a daily driver or even a bathroom browser.
